Great Crossbows ... should I bother w/ Green Steel?

I think I'm going to go w/ a great xbow for a few lives. Now, I can cannith-craft just about anything, and there's deplorably few actual good named options out there.

That said, Shroud is rare and I'd need a few runs at least to get shards, etc. together. A Rad2 would be awesome, but is it worth the wait?

There are basically none on the AH, and ones w/ augment slots are rare. I've got a few BTA blanks and I could easily enough do Holy Burst / Bleed or Maming.

I see the Eveningstar throwers and crossbows are the same cost - any chance the crossbows are also spell-plagued?

I would think that a RadII GXB would rock until you get can get TF (if even available in TF model)

I was thinking Rad2 because the blind and light is on a crit - and those things have crazy expanded range options.

Rad2 is the way to go.
Had a GXB Ranger years ago - before they added the Trip feature to GXBs. Even back then, a Rad2 tore things up.

I wish I had the materials to make one on my Mechanic. lol

My feeling is that it's never worth the time to make any piece of GS unless you already have everything needed to make it.

Shards are much rarer in DA, though, especially the higher ones. You can also get shards from Tower of Despair, but that's probably even harder to fill than a Shroud...

I'm certainly going to craft a RadII Great Crossbow before I do a Mechanic life on an alt, as blinding on 15-20 is great for sneak attack damage (which can easily hit 150ish per bolt on a brand new stock level 15 character). Shame it is a dual-shard recipe, though
