Default DDO kills VLC Media Player, how do I prevent this?

I want to listen to my own music while playing DDO. ...except opening or un-minimizing DDO crashes my favorite media player, VLC. Any tips to prevent DDO from killing my tunes?

    Edit: I solved it.

VLC, Tools > Preferences > Video, uncheck Accelerated video output (overlay).

    Hi,

I frequently use VLC while running DDO and have not encountered any problems so far.

The reason I mention this is because what you're experiencing might not be an program related problem. It could be due to some issue with your OS, drivers, sound card, etc, instead.

I'm running Windows 7, using VLC 2.1.5, and have integrated sound on motherboard, if that helps.

    Good luck.

Oh, well now I at least know what to try next. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

    Hi,

You're welcome, and I hope it turns out well for you.

There are some quite tech-savvy people on these forums, so hopefully one of them will appear with some more specific advice.

    Thanks.

VLC is kinda old, bloaty and chuggy. I recently dumped it and switched to Potplayer, uses a lot less system resource.

On the other hand. Why are you using a Video player for music? Windows Media player is waaaay better than it used to be. (If your music happens to be some odd format, you might need a codec pack though).
