    Default Pally Archer question

    I'm considering two possible builds. ED will be fury for furyshot.

    14pal/6mnk and 14pal/6rgr

    pros of 6mnk:
    • evasion
    • 10k stars
    • shadow veil
    • +1 crit multiplier in gm earth
    • +1.5w dmg from dance of flowers twist


    pros of 6rgr:
    • free feats
    • heavy armor
    • dws tree
    • better melee


    So which do you think is a better choice?
    Rgr seems to give better burst (since you have arrow of slaying, sniper shot, aimed shot).
    Mnk seems to give better overall dps (10k stars, +1 crit multiplier).

    If you want a purely ranged toon, monkcher is the best bet (albeit a late-bloomer). I posted one such build here; needs to go elf or HE for access to AA PrE.

    Pal / rgr is better if you want a mixed melee/ranged toon; perversely, Holy Sword is a better DPS boost for Tempests than most of what's in the rgr trees, apart from Growing Storm + Dance of Death which only req 5 rgr lvls. I think pal 15 / rgr 5 is better melee DPS due to Zeal; while pal 14 / rgr 6 gets you two more free feats (ITWF & MS), which provides a bit more flexibility in build options.     Ok, so your answer is pal/mnk. It's kinda what i started going with.
    Although I decided to go dex to hit/dmg and grandmaster stance rather than emp healing.

    Don't go 14Pal/6Monk yet.

    Rumor is they're going to mess with the Manyshot and 10K Stars timers in such a way that Monkchers will not be able to switch between the two as often as they can now. That is they will share common timers for at least some of the time. Just how much "some" of the time is, is unknown. It could be that when Manyshot is on timer, 10K Stars will also be on timer for most of, if not the ENTIRE, two minutes.

    I'd hold off on the Monkcher plan if I were you.

    Eh, i'm rolling it on an alt. 1st life is very easy to get through. But thx for the information.
