DDO 10th Anniversary Celebration

I like the airship battles.

I like the map invasions.

I like guild housing.

I think this is a good time to include extraplanar quests and more planes in the Eberronian cosmology. Perhaps a Xorian manifest zone finally erupts in the marketplace while the Lord of Blades marches on Stormreach and the dragons try to protect it. Perhaps everyone notable in Eberron tries to defend or invade this city or its surrounding environs at the same time in this quest (arc).

Our suggestion about a Devil Invasion II for the 10th Anniversary event looks like it is coming true. Updates 27 to 29 are one story arc involving Devils with Update 28 being an actual invasion of different places in Eberron by Devils. The 10th Anniversary event will only be a few months after Update 29 and the Epic battle with Harry, so the story arc may end with the Anniversary event.

We shall see.

I'd like to see the anniversary cards made usable again since I'm not the only one who saved a lot of theirs to use or trade and am now stuck with a bag full of unusable cards with so much potential

The first set of cards should never ever not in a hundred tillion infinites ever be active again. You know how many cards got duped? I am sure some of them were destroyed but many may not have been.

I really like the idea of a live event ala the Marketplace event back in the day. Something map changing.

But I actually came looking for a thread like this because I was thinking about the 10th anniversary coming up and how I've been playing since the beginning as a VIP (though we were just called "players" back in the beginning...) even when I haven't been playing. And, I just LRd one of my guys and my broach of water breathing, boots of minor striding, amulet of natural armor, and Founder's Helm appeared in my pack on cue. They have all been far surpassed by other gear, and I usually destroy 3 of 4, but I always keep a Founder's Helm on each character. Like keeping an old photo around...

Anywhoo, and this is just because I'm one of the probably 11 people this would impact, I'd love to see something special for those who are founders AND have been VIP the entire time. Something akin to an update to the Founders Helm. Maybe something that can grow with a character. It could be upgraded or downgraded through a Stone of Change or just be automatically tied to the character level. When a character levels up, so does the helmet. This could certainly be done for everyone though, and perhaps there are different abilities, or something different based on tenure AND track (vip, etc.).

Lastly, while it doesn't have to be a helmet, it should be something visible. Which, obviously, limits placement options.

How about bringing them back with a limit on how many times you can trade e.g. 10X max, that way dupers wont get that much more than they've already hoarded and non-dupers don't have to feel bad about having useless cards due to the 8th anniversary ending early without much notice.

No the old cards should stay dead we need something new for the anniversary. I would like to see several cosmetic things and and maybe more of them depending on how long you have been here but nothing game affecting .

What would define long term? I have played the same DDO account since 2006, but only had a forum account since 2013. Where would someone like me fall into your idea?

They should be able to take your actual account time for this shouldn't be based on when you joined the fourm but the game, my fourm join date is a month and a half older than the start of the game

you do realize that turbines game Asherons Call came out with player housing at the end of the 90's before WOW was even an idea right? or that the OG modern MMORPG Ultima Online had it also.
before you say something is ganked from someone else you should do your homework then you would know that most of it was "ganked" from ultima or turbine
