I think he quit before rep was implemented, or not long after. His extensive and helpful posts would have netted much more rep otherwise.

Absoluely, that is why I threw him on there. His Lore posts on Eberron were fantastic.

This thread makes me think about how long we have been posting on these forums and how many good times have been had. And some not so good. And drama, always drama.

It appears that Cordovan has added a few levels since 2010 (The Epic, The Legendary, the Completionist).

If I were to guess, I'd say Epic is at 25k and Completionist would be 100k (WIth legendary at 50k as per Memnir)

I question Cordovons count on "the Epic" I dont even recall seeing a single one.

Since folks have been interested in this subject, I did a bit more digging. Since Memnir is correct about the 50k reputation figure, I guess it's safe to say that The Epic is 25k. Currently only Memnir has above 24k rep, although a very few others have had that much in the past (back when rep went up and down.) There are two folks who are pretty close to The Epic, though.

The #1 way to get rep is to post something extremely useful (back when I was active, my highest rep threads were either guides or very detailed suggestions for the game like the old 'epic item review' threads).

#2 is funny posts, including trolling posts.

A distant #3 is high volume useful posts (e.g. answering questions).

I got a ton of rep standing up for reason...

Somebody would post something way over the top, and I would point out that "No, not everyone plays at cap, with maxed out characters, and the game isn't totally broken or doomed", and though I would get slammed by everyone in the thread with "fanboi" comments, I'd get a ton of rep from silent supporters who seemed to appreciate me correcting super exaggerated posts.

Jus thought I would mention Wax_on_wax_Off (or how one writes his or her name). I read a lot of his or her posts. Doesn't play anymore though. Symbol was that acrobat performer in the marketplace.

I am presuming those two are already on The List.

If not, let me know and I'll try to think of who else I could be forgetting. Also, it can be hard to tell because some players do not have rep turned on, do these players currently have rep turned on?

... Most? No. It consists of about half. The rest came from posting advice, trying to be helpful to new players, suggestions, or feedback/observations on the game. A lot of it came from when I suggested that Turbine change the Teleport/Greater Teleport icons and not use recycled ones for half the lists - and when I pointed out that the just-added Airship towers were all copy/paste versions of the one in the Marketplace and hoped aloud that the art department could do better in making them fit in better with the atheistic of the individual Houses.

hehehe, granted, but most of your posts are funny or indeed better said have a positive touch but yes, I also remember that debacle with the towers and they gladly got some color overhaul after your posting But indeed interesting, wouldn't have thought about that!

The best way to get Rep here is just to be a positive, genuine, and contributing person here. Sure, I got a lot from being funny - but humor is an asset in any community. I think I got a lot of Rep because people knew my humor came from the heart - it was always genuine. But, that's not the only way I got Rep by a long shot. If it was, I would not have garnered 50k+.

I'm actually impressed with how many high rep posters came into this thread! I think they have a 6th sense that lets them know when someone is talking about them.

There was one guy, stainer if I'm not mistaken, who got over 2600 positive rep for a single post. It was for a post where he ripped Shade in a very sarcastic, but also sort of subtle, way.
