Yes, there are a few of those - I just have to remember their names. Thousands upon thousands of posts over the years, and things do get muddled. I update the list as I remember more. I am not trying to offend anyone - this is more for my own nostalgic reminiscing than anything, which I think some others might share.

It's nice to see some of the older names at least to pop back in from time to time. I still use his compiled list for epic seal and shard drops.

MrCow was indeed famous, especially with his youtube solo runs like Diaries of a TR (Melee), Diaries of a TR (Druid), Diaries of a TR (Sorcerer), and while a lot has changed they are still helpful treasures.

Sadly a lot of good players are gone, like Junts or even Shade with his sometimes controversial position regarding Barbarians

It is by the way not always the helpful answers that give reputation. If I remember it correctly Memnir once said of himself that most of his reputation cummulated from posting funny pictures :P

    * We have collectable bags, mind you, even hireling folders, but can I have that 6-pack for my potions please?
    * Having already a past life on the dieng EU servers, I rerolled here and started from scratch as I like the game and the community, so lets see what awaits me here

Yeah humor definitely gets the most rep. While I do give rep for informative posts, I admit I am also guilty of giving rep if a post gives me a good laugh. Cultivating a positive and fun environment on the forums is worth just as much as being informative imo. Memnir certainly did that in spades.

The #1 way to get rep is to post something extremely useful (back when I was active, my highest rep threads were either guides or very detailed suggestions for the game like the old 'epic item review' threads).

#2 is funny posts, including trolling posts.

A distant #3 is high volume useful posts (e.g. answering questions).

true--my flaming sphere scroll thread got me lots of rep, whereas my sense of humor misses the mark.

I want DDO to be a better game. Those are my personal suggestions on: Ammunition, Archmage, Combat Stances, Deities, Dispel Magic, Epic Destiny Map, Fast Healing, Favor, Favored Enemy, Half-elf Enhancements, Monk Kensai, Monk Stances, Past Life, Potency, Potions, Ranger Spells, Summons, Tiered Loot.

There also seems to be more than the simple correlation between rep and titles as listed in the quote form the much older thread about this previously suggests, as I do have positive rep atm, but am still "the Neutral" (previous post mentioned Neutral is for 0 and less). Perhaps because I did have some posts in a recently locked/deleted thread (even though I do not think I posted anything infraction worthy, but I could be wrong). *shrugs* I could have sworn I was "the Noted" prior to that as well. Oh well. I'm still ecstatic to have that list now!

I would like to suggest some alternative forum titles:

    The Longwinded
    The Argumentative
    Quantity over Quality
    Not This Guy Again
    Might Be a Spambot
    Charlatan
    and of course

LOL! I'll second this. I definitely ascribe some of these titles to certain posters already.

Man, there were a lot of names on that little list that I remember, and many that I (somewhat oddly) miss.

Had Kargon been active while rep was at its peak, I suspect his rep would be very high. Sanadil got a lot of rep for his great planner, but hasn't been active in years.

I think it was double Rep to nudge that up from Epic. I imagine Compleationist is either 75k or 100k.

Hope that clarifies some of the benchmarks.

Most? No. It consists of about half. The rest came from posting advice, trying to be helpful to new players, suggestions, or feedback/observations on the game. A lot of it came from when I suggested that Turbine change the Teleport/Greater Teleport icons and not use recycled ones for half the lists - and when I pointed out that the just-added Airship towers were all copy/paste versions of the one in the Marketplace and hoped aloud that the art department could do better in making them fit in better with the atheistic of the individual Houses.

The best way to get Rep here is just to be a positive, genuine, and contributing person here. Sure, I got a lot from being funny - but humor is an asset in any community. I think I got a lot of Rep because people knew my humor came from the heart - it was always genuine. But, that's not the only way I got Rep by a long shot. If it was, I would not have garnered 50k+.

    Hope that also helps clarify.

Kargon... That's a name I haven't heard in a looooooong time. Was a hilarious forum personality.

I too miss neg rep. Was a good source of feedback when you made a bad post (I got a few deserved ones) and it was a good way to warn the community about people who were intentionally giving newbies bad advice for laughs. Cough cough, the 6 Con, 16 Dex, no Toughness feat "Team Sorcerer" build that was posted back in the days of the 20 cap (back when HP were *everything* for defense).

Yeah I got a few dings I deserved any many more I didn't but it was a good indicator though if you were pushing things to far.

I think he quit before rep was implemented, or not long after. His extensive and helpful posts would have netted much more rep otherwise.
