I think it's broken, I hadn't given out any rep since the forum changeover because I thought it was turned off (I misunderstood) I proceeded to give Ancient rep once the first and only rep I've handed out after I read this thread I think, and then a few hours later gave it to Thrudh for admitting he was wrong and it wouldn't let me.

I thought the same thing - I had thought rep had been turned off. I have now been going back and trying to give some out belatedly. I had not checked my rep in a long time before this thread.

Yeah, me too... I hadn't handed out rep in forever... but then I discovered it was still working.

I have a question regarding rep tracking, do you guys see who gave you positive rep? And if so, is it by default or do you need to change something in the settings?

I'm asking because i have two "display names" tied to my account, my main and the one from beta MoTU testing. If i go to the one from beta testing, i see that i got positive rep from such and such user in my Control Panel (it's from the May of 2012, if it's important). But when i am on my main name, i only see the names of posters i've given rep to, not the ones who gave me rep. Is it the same for you guys?

(First box)
That I've gotten rep.
For what post.
Whether it increases my score.
A comment if used by the rep-giver.

(Second box)
My reputation power.
For what posts I gave rep.
My comment (if applicable).

Negative rep doesn't exist anymore, there's just green (user with high reputation power compared to your rep) and grey (low rep power in comparison).

Clicking the "Settings" link at the top right of your forum page?

Should give you a list of subscribed thread activity, a list of any Frax you have (if any), and then lists of rep received (as Tinco described).

Ok, i'll post images since you seem to not know what i'm talking about. First screenshot is of my "display name" from beta MotU and second one is of my main.





Please notice that in the first one i can see who gave me positive rep but in the second one i can't. And here is my question, which one of those do you see when you look at your positive rep section and if it's the first one, how do i make it show the names of posters who gave me rep?

Can't see names neither and as far as I know it was only visible who gave rep for players who had a certain amount of rep, but only for a very short time and was quickly disabled to avoid players seeing who gave negative rep (see post #64).

Yeah, i've read that thread before i posted my question here but as you can see the thread is from 2010 so 2 years before the time i got pos rep for my post.

Maybe you can see it if you never gained any neg rep in the past? Or it is bugged... maybe if Cordovan is still reading this thread he may as well an answer for that mystery.

People should not be able to see who gave them reputation. If you can, it's probably an issue with the settings for a certain user group or user groups, which is something I can look into. That said, 2012 is a bit too old to spend the time digging through our forum user groups - can anyone CURRENTLY see who is giving them reputation?

I frequently leave a comment and my forum sig when I add rep but as I recall when the rep system got neutered you stopped being able to see who had given you rep. I don't think you could ever see who neg repped you, mind you (sensible...).

Yeah I think that all changed when they sadly took neg rep away

Yes.
When I heard that not everyone could, I figured it was an earned privilege for attaining a high Rep - but am probably wrong. However, I like being able to see the names - please don't remove it.

I edited to blur out the thread names, date/time, and user-names, since that seems to be a point of contention. Not by me, though... again, I like and appreciate knowing whom has handed me Rep. I've never used the info for good or ill, just informative. (honestly, since all Rep is positive, it seems really silly to hide it from anyone at all)

That's funny, it may well be because of your particular settings, as there are a couple of areas where you top the forum leaderboards as it were. I'll leave it up to the community to let me know if I should allow an exception for you (and others with such high reputation, currently no one else.) I probably lean toward being fine with it if others are.
