Default Bleed damage 200% MP: What does this affect?

In release notes: Bleed damage now scales 200% with Melee Power.

    Questions:
    1. I assumed this only affected Bleed attacks in various enhancement lines. But Spencerian's post made me think that it also affects weapon suffixes related to the Bleed effect.
    2. I assume scaling means that 100 melee power quadruples the effect, like Venomed blades? So 1d8 becomes 4d8?

    From WikiGod:
    • Slicing: 1 to 4 damage to targets that are vulnerable to bleeding.
    • Bleeding: 1 to 8 damage to targets that are vulnerable to bleeding.
    • Hemorrhaging: 2 to 16 damage to targets that are vulnerable to bleeding.
    • Phlebotomizing: 3 to 24 damage to targets that are vulnerable to bleeding.

So lacertaing, mauling and mangling are now more attractive? I assume this does not affect maiming unless that is typed weirdly?

    - Scaling with 200% melee power means that you get three times the damage. So 1d8 would become 3d8. That's the same as with Venomed Blades.
    - I have not tested it with bleed damage but as far as i have seen it the bleeding damage from Dragon's Edge on my Thunderforged Shuriken does not scale with melee power.

hi Firewall, thx for your observations. I am only level 13 now but I do have around 20sh melee power. Maybe I can test some of this stuff on a cheap crafted slicing weapon.

I thought the melee power would 4x the venomed blades. Not sure why I had calculated it that way. Anyway with Sting at full stack it would get another increment for a total of 6d8, then? I remember when I did this as a test some time ago with a pure drow ninja and I was seeing 50s coming up in the damage.

Yes with full stacks of Sting of the Ninja Venomed Blades can do up to 6d8 poison damage. And also the EE Quiver of Poison will do 2d10 poison damage then in addition to the 40d4 poison DOT.
