Default What blocks incoming friendly (Negative energy) healing?

I was in a PUG, and the Palemaster in the party was getting hit a bunch. So I tried casting some Inflict spells.

But they were getting blocked! The PM was getting no healing, and the magical-shield symbol would pop up each time, like the one when Nightshield blocks Magic Missile.

So what's blocking friendly Inflict spells? Spell Absorption item, maybe? Are they bugged again?

could be some spell absorb item is now bugged again, and blocking.

I just found out just a couple of weeks ago that "Deathblock XX" also reduces friendly (including self cast) healing by said amount. This effect is numbered and on named Epic Necro IV gear (like Epic Belt of Thoughtful Remembrance for example). I was wondering for some time why my bursts and aura were hitting me for so little......for months....LMAO

I was facing the target, and I don't need to be very close in general. Neither Harm nor the Mass Inflict spells have super-short range, only the single-target Inflict spells.

If you read my OP, you'd see the spell was going off. It was triggering a "magical shield" animation from my target.

    That's an absorb item, then.
