    Default Legacy Raids

While some of the older raids have lost a lot of popularity, it seems there are people who are still interested in running them on Thelanis. In recent weeks, I've seen people post groups for LoB (it looked like they ended up duoing it), ToD (shorhanded), Abbot (looks like they had issues filling). I myself have led mostly full runs of Abbot and Titan this past weekend.

With Easter coming up this weekend, I've got a bit of spare time, so I'll do a little experiment to test how popular this older raid content is. I'll post a group for all the pre-MotU raids (minus Tempest's Spine) and see how far we can get. Subject to when I get my weekend chores done, I'll be posting the train Saturday, April 4, around 13:00 Eastern (17:00 UTC).

My plan is to go roughly in this order, with difficulties subject to change depending on the group composition (I'm planning on minimal filling time for raids with lockouts, 10-15 minutes or so):
    • VoN 5-6 (EE)
    • Chrono (EE)
    • VoD (Elite)
    • HoX (Elite or Norm)
    • Reaver (Elite)
    • Shroud (Elite)
    • ToD (Elite)
    • Abbot (Elite)
    • Titan (Elite)
    • LoB (EN)
    • MA (EN)--I'm actually a little unclear on how to run this, so unless someone joins who can lead it, we may have to muddle through it as best we can or skip it.
    • DQ (EE)

I will be on my Cleric 28, so BB is improbable and joiners may lose streak if we end up not getting a party capable of tackling EE. Even though I will be on a Cleric, anyone joining is advised to bring some self-sufficiency, since if we don't get enough people to handle the jobs needed, I may have to task myself to do stuff out of range of the party (e.g., kiting dogs).

It doesn't matter if you don't know the raids. While they won't be teaching runs per se, anything you need to know will be typed out in English and I will assign you a job you can handle. If you need ingredients for ToD boots I can probably help you out.
I Cannith-craft (150 levels in all schools) for free on Thelanis if you provide all needed materials.

Would love to join you for a few of these but I usually try to have a life on weekends and I'll probably be wandering about on the moors this Saturday. If you do this more often, perhaps on weeknights or later in the evening on weekends, I'll try to bring some gimps to slow you down and cause general annoyance if I see you.

Hmmmm, I haven't played the Outside adventure pack yet.

    And to report...

I posted slightly before 13:00 and finished the last raid about 20:15. Someone actually posted an EE VoN 5-6 at the about the same time as me and we ended up merging groups. Full raid. Bunch of stuff was up for roll, but was the usual vendor trash.

I then posted an EE Chrono and started with about five in the party. We eventually got a full raid, with one person dualboxing.

Elite VoD was a cakewalk. Elite HoX was also a cakewalk; the group wanted to cheese it with Ruin. Good for about a minute of laughs. I think we had a Bard's Cloak up for roll, as well as a Levik's Shield.

Reaver had a group of ten present in the raid, but due to nonflagging, two sat out. Dreamspitter was up for roll.

Elite Shroud was run with 11 in party. One sat out, one DCed and never came back. We had 12, but one ran into flagging issues and had to drop.

Elite ToD was in a party of 11. I offered to tank the shadows with Blade Barrier, but forgot to swap it back in after deciding to cheese HoX and that didn't end up working very well... I think three rings ended up dropping, Whisper, Encrusted, and Deftness?

Heroic Elite LoB was run with eight. I wasn't quite comfy running it EE since we didn't have an experienced tank. This turned out to be fortunate since we had a serious lag spike and it would not have been possible to recover in EE. The arti part dropped and I believe only one person got a spirit.

Heroic Elite MA was run with nine.

A lot of people ended up dropping as they were not flagged for elite Abbot. We ended up running it with six characters (I dualboxed to cover scouting and puzzles). A Litany dropped and was put up for roll. Incidentally, the drops in Abbot lately have been insane. I think the last three or four runs I've seen 2-3 Litanies and 2-3 Quivers.

Titan was run with 11 characters (me dualboxing to solve green). The armour and the mask dropped and were put up for roll (the poor German guy hunting for that mask would be jealous). A few runs back, there were six raid items in the chest, including the Gloves, Belt, Sickle, two Rattles, and I forget what else.

Someone else started a DQ group around the same time as me, so we ended up running part 2 on EE with twelve. Wolf Whistle and Marichain shards dropped, and some named items as well.

If I had to do another "legacy train" again, I would probably just do ToD/LoB/MA/Abbot/Titan. Reaver/VoD are so easy now that you can just solo it on many melee builds, and HoX is so cheesable. Shroud/Chrono/VoN are popular enough that they don't need people posting LFMs just because.

I'm sad that I missed this. I'm an old timer just returning to the game after a long hiatus and I'd have welcomed the chance to just learn the raids. If you ever do even a shorter version of these runs, I'd make time for them.

Let me know what times you're available, and if we have some overlap, I'm happy to do at least some of this stuff again. I'm usually on most evenings (but not Thursdays) Eastern or most weekends.

Mind you, it was legacy raids I was doing, not the newer, more popular stuff.

Keep the faith, my friend. Just this past week I got 3 Twilight Forge completions.
