Mysterious Remnants are ridiculously rare, and the rewards are astronomically overpri

We are working on a fix where all Mysterious Cloaks and Bracers will automatically upgrade to functional Green Slots when Update 25 is released.



This is not out of line with what we've been thinking. Remnants have only been dropping for about two months now.



We aren't trying to promote farming, but we're not overly worried if players who want to do it. That said, we're viewing all of these rewards as an extra bonus you get just for playing, and absolutely none of them are required for anyone to play DDO. We didn't expect most players would have all items they want from Mysterious Remnants after only two months - that would be a sign the costs are too low (and most players would rightfully complain they have nothing to save up Remants for, other than buying all the stat-boosting potions).

Obviously some players are earning them much faster than others, whether or not farming is involved.



There's little investment involved. The investment is "play the game on Hard or Elite and get free stuff eventually". Being able to freely earn one desirable BTA items every life doesn't seem necessary. New players don't need these - none of the rewards from Mysterious Remnants are needed to get to level 28, as has been already proven repeatedly. Several players have suggested that there shouldn't even be any rewards for Mysterious Remnants or Champions.



The Magical Resistance bonus type is Insight. This is working as intended.

Months old forum posts are not promises of things that are never going to change before they even make it into the game, especially when the posts are explicitly asking for feedback so we can change things.

* There's an obvious issue where the Magical Resistance description claims to increase healing, which is a bug we're looking into, but the title of the Magical Resistance effect is accurate.



Interesting theory. There's been some debate that the cloaks should have been <X> instead of paper.

And I personally don't want ALL the rewards on the remnant vendor available all the time as that takes away anything special about it.

there are always rewards at the vendor. there are just special ones that come out every once in a while. this is now the 2nd time already this year its came out. so calm down.

Another question, does XP pots affect to number you get? While I had a 20% pot running I saw a few big pulls, well compared to the ones I see in epic stuff anyways.

Just for the record, it's not about how many remnants you can earn each life, it's about how hard you willing to farm them. +2 stacking stat is meaningless? I don't think so. More will be added in the next update, and no one is forcing you to collect spend remnants. It's just optional. Real game is dungeon runs and TR/gear farming.

Quick update :
Just found this ...

All of the rewards are likely to come back at some point. It just may easily be multiple months between certain rewards coming back. Probably each reward will show up at least once a year, likely more.

All that was said is that each reward will show up at least ONCE A YEAR. So it looks like I was right about Sehenry03 pulling things out of his mind and presenting it as fact with regards to this :

I gotta laugh Ha! ...a rare filthy remnant ltd weekend ,and the better rewards are cloaks??? I wont bother looking at remnant rewards until I hear of better stuff; i 'll have 4k on each character by the time a decent reward is worked out.

I agree that the average player, who isn't willing to do the endless farm grind has almost no chance to get a +5 tome, or anything else nice on these events. I never got anything out of the anniversary card event ... my two cards per day just didn't hack it. But I did on the miserable mimic festival. Not because I'm a duper (I'm not), but because I spent days doing absolutely nothing but living in Fresco: In, unlock & open all the chests, out, repeat endlessly; hoping, praying that you'd get a frenzy before you had to quit (sometimes took many hours, sometimes it didn't happen at all). Rinse & repeat. And, if you didn't have a good group, your rate went really down. It was BORING. Mind-numbingly so.

I ground out 7030 motes or 703 cards, spending most of a week inside Fresco, many hours every day. Out of that I got one 10 & three 9's, or enough for two +5 tomes. I EARNED them, & I never want to do Fresco again. I absolutely hate these grinding events.

Don't assume that everyone who was able to get something out of the mimic event, or who gets something out of this weeks remnant event is a duper. I've already started the farming for remnants. Only 5000 to go. Yuck.

And, I think they've pretty well knocked down the duping atm, judging by the auction houses ... Of course, I could be wrong on that.

Yah this is what disturbs me. You got 4 'good' cards out of 700? That's insane. And why call it an event if they force you to run one quest that exploits chests? Call it the Stormreaver Fresco farm, not a mimic event when people who are chasing mimics across different quests have no chance of getting anything good. So now we are supposed to farm out HH for remnants? Just a stupid game mechanic.

New for U25:
Fresco will no longer produce mimics from non-chest UIs.
Only one champion per spawn cluster will produce a chest.
