    Default Monster Iconics

After the implementation of Gnomes (and maybe Aasimar and Tieflings) I thought it might be interesting to have monster classes - not necessarily starting at the full level 15 - with racial HD in place of a few regular starting class levels. Imagine playing an ogre (Iconic level 7); your first 6 "levels" would be ogre - 4HD and massive racial bonuses +10str, +4con, etc. - and your 7th level you would leave the training area and go train your first class level. Since this race has a +6 Equivalent Character Level, it syncs up nicely with veteran II status. Similarly Gnoll would make a good veteran I equivalent race with its ECL of +3 and fair stat bonuses +4str, +2con... These need not be the limit though. I bet I'm not the only one who'd like to be a minotaur tromping around doing massive damage with a powerful charge (I wonder if that would work like a damaging abundant step...) Kobolds I have a separate idea for but I'll them their own thread.

The pros would be the obvious stat boosts and some racial abilities, the cons- lower saves, skill points, BAB and potentially hp would result for the lower HD along with penalties to Int and Cha in a lot of cases.
Please give me a rep point. I need them to live

We need no more iconics, but never gnome or other races would be a bit sad. Tieflings are a horny issue and come with a tail of problems, however, while Aasimar would fly right by most players, if I were to play one I'd probably just wing it. I'd like to see an invisible stalker NPC before either of those two races.

It may be a tall order, but what I would like are more small-sized races, I see a lot of potential for growth in that regard. Due to the nature of most of the early-level content adding kobolds is not a very appetizing idea, but Goblins and Gnomes I'd gobble right up. This may be a stretch, but I think that sometimes, in order to get at the high-hanging fruit, you need to be a bit low-brow.

nice puns, but i think that's a terrible excuse turbine uses. Some tieflings have horns, some have tails. Some have claws, some have weird hair or eye color. It can be done, they just don't want to for some reason (i prefer aasimar though, there is no wis race)

i don't mind iconics since i use them and i see other play them as well whether it be tr or actually using it. i've always been about variety so more iconic,s more races, more classes. whatever. i don't mind as long as they are able to work out the major kinks first of them and add the others as they go.
