Drop rate would probably be alright if the warning messages about when a frenzy was about to begin worked.

Only at 70 cards ATM but still no 9's or 10's, and they're the only ones I want. Not going to feel great about the event if when it's done I have 200 or so cards but all of them useless to me though.

Just to give you a heads up on how tough this is I was in a full group dedicated to farming yesterday and we farmed through 3 frenzies. My whole group got 720 turn ins total. When we turned in between the group we got 6 IXs and 7 Xs.

So 2% cards is about 50 cards to get one if your luck is average. 50 cards is 500 motes. It seems about every 5-6 chests pops a mimic. 2500-3000 chests should get you one without a frenzy. Say 3 chests a quest and 15 mins a quest on average. That is about 916 quests and 229 hours in quests without a frenzy. That seems high. Even if you cut it in half with frenzies and other factors, it still seems high. Seems you pretty much need to do dedicated farming of quick high chest# quests or be really lucky. I can farm if I really want one and I have done some really boring farming for about 600 motes but no 9's or 10's. If I was making up the numbers I think I would have gone with 4-5%.

Personally, I think they should implement an XP check. If you are not getting more than 500 XP for the quest, the chances of you getting a mimic went to ZERO percent. Eliminate the farm of certain quests.

First of all, if they did this, people would still farm stormreaver fresco but with characters that get at least 500 xp and never completing the quest.
Second of all, they SHOULD decrease the cost of cards AND eliminate farming.

If players are over level (and most people farm these things with over level characters)....they would get no xp.

If you are over level, you get a penalty to xp depending on how many levels above the quest level you are. 1 level higher does not get penalties. Then it goes -10%, -25%, -50%, -75%, -99%, NO XP. So, if you're at 99% and have first time elite +80% and daily playthrough bonus +20% then you get base xp for this quest. If base xp on elite is more than 500 xp then a level 12 character will get 900 xp for fresco (lvl 4 -> 6 on elite).

Wow.. 7k motes. People have so much time to farm them -.-:
I bet turbine saw this massive farm coming, and we are not getting +5 tomes easily. I would rather buy tomes when they are on sale or right now - right away with real money. Not sure how about people here, but I don't deserve all the stress.

The chase loot feels more less like Mabar and more like Festivault, of which I'm not a fan.

After my one day of farming, I quickly decided this even was not worth me paying much in game attention to. I will still enjoy the mimic pops and will probably turn in my motes on the last day (if I remember) but look at the whole event with a shrug.

Yeah, likewise. I'll definitely do the same on march 7th. I like the fact that I can participate in the event while also leveling up or doing other things. Surely, +5 tome of your choice is rare, but it's not garanteed, even after 700 tries. So, what's the point in excessively farming right? You might get lucky, yes, but to come here and complain... there is 1 - 2% chance that people would get rare cards. It doesn't matter wether you turn in 100 times or 1000s, rare chance is rare chance. Someone in Orien already got + 5 tome after 21 turn ins. I hope you get your tome too Captain, if not - someday there will be +6 tome sale and even +7 tome (I bet usable at lv28). Good luck

How many cards do you have in mind that a player has to turn in?
I currently have 30 motes after casually playing. So, for this to be pretty good I should have 1000 motes.

I don't see why the high cards had to be so rare. The tome is once per account, so no matter how many cards you have you only get 1 tome.

If they didn't want the rewards to be so common, they shouldn't have allowed farming of the motes. They should have tied the chance to chest ransack and not included the champion chests or the chests that can't be ransacked. That way everyone would have about the same amount of motes by casual play.

But I guess it was easier to take the same code from the last year's cards and apply the mimics to every chest without any limitations.

This is the problem with this "Festival" - some of the current rewards are "too good" for many people to simply go about their business questing. For Festivult, the cookies are a nice little thing to have but aren't so great that most people feel they really need to get them. And the "exceptional" gifts are such a small chance that most people don't bother trying to farm for them. Mabar rewards are really in demand, especially since we didn't get any this past fall.

I really dislike this system of in-quest, card turn-in and random card generation for anything but "ok" rewards like last anniversary or maybe cosmetics and pets.
