Default Elite is too easy !!!

The fact is that Elite difficulty is really too much easy when you are a legend with nice stuff... Even in elite ( heroic or epic) I can carry full party, they just following me and I m soloing quest without any help or mostly... Why ? cause I can do it, I don t wanna waste time to wait other party members and so let s go rush to the end for XP... And I really dislike this way to play, it s really boring. It could be better to have REAL CHALLENGES that make us playing as real team, wait each others, getting real strategy and having fun with this. I prefer to do 1 quest in 1 hour and get 3x more xp than doing 3x more quests in rush without any challenge.

1- I find that the champion system is fun and really nice ! It increases ( not so much ) the difficulty and can bring sometimes interresting challenges. This was true for the first version of champions ( maybe too strong in some ways ) but actually champions are really bad trash...

2- Please we really need you to add another difficulty, higher than elite !!! Let's call this the "Legendary" difficulty where all monsters are champions and you can find some Super Champions ( with skull and crossbones over their head ). Each time you kill a super champion, you earn 10% of the quest base xp ( yes, big bonus for BIG CHALLENGE!!!). In this difficulty you get more xp than in elite of course on quest completion and/or maybe higher streaks bonus availble (75% / 100% ).

3- Legendary difficulty only avaible for legend characters, maybe champions

Thanks everyone, say what you think about it.

1, only if there is an opt out.

2, so more exp to make up for lost time? the only difference is that those groups will contain more uber builds with self healing and dps thus creating more of a distance between those who can and can't, knowing this already is going on and will happen even more why would you want this divide to occur?

3, Legend characters? Champions? whhhuuuut??? you mean tr's? completionists?

Why is it so hard to accept for people that some of their toons reached the pinnacle of power?
retire the toon and start a new one, hop back on that tr hamster wheel.
One of the many reasons people like playing this (besides the obvious build options, community and fun at laughing at all the many bugs), is thought they start weak they can become stronger and stronger with each piece of treasure and exp they find.
Take pride and joy with the end results instead of asking for the privilege to feel even more special and please stop asking the devs to change this into some run of the mill Korean grind fest. Not everyone enjoys beating at a mob 10 minutes at the time.
Diverting dev's away from creating new content and fixing broken content is a bad idea to begin with anyway(imho).
they are already understaffed as it is and have great difficulty meeting deadlines at the moment, everything they bring out for the last couple of years is riddled with bugs and required multiple bug/hot fixes.

I don t need and I dont want another character ! I already tryed all class with TR and ETR, no need to have tons of toon...

I worked so hard on my character, I dont want to play another one and I need challenge in a game. And so what ?! Now i am too strong so your solution is "create another toon", forget this one or stop to play DDO ?! Really, I can t agree with this !!! In all case a new difficulty is a new content for the game and can only make it better in the gameplay for both, ancients and new players. You dislike to hit a mob for 5 minutes, I can understand it so go play on normal, hard, elite but on my side, I need something stronger, I dislike to play all quests as if it was a racing game instead of an adventure game... Just keep running, destroy everything, faster faster faster faster !!! ****, need challenge...

Have you tried actual challenges? I mean you can set the difficulty several levels* above you, its most fun & also harder if you play in a team... we rarely play them, I'll be honest, but if you're really finding things that easy?

*currently challenges don't have champs I don't think but I can see them appearing in future if the quest is 2 levels above the highest player level.

Lvl 25 I clear lvl 30 challenges finger in the nose... And it s not like 20 challenges in the game that will bring me the difficulty I need to fully enjoy my character potential with my stuff, my build, my player skills ect.... really need something stronger

Fair enough. I'm not someone who thinks that 'challenge yourself' suggestions (naked stealth runs etc) are helpful, so I really have no ideas for you. I can't think of another MMO with more challenge in it, but sometimes a change is as good as a rest, y'know?

As far as I know all the challenges are classed as Normal difficulty regardless of level so the end result is that champs will (probably) never appear in them.

Default Said it before (maybe) and will say it again (probably)

There definitely 100% is a need for a difficulty setting Higher that Heroic Elite, and Higher than EE.

This difficulty (for instance) Legend Difficulty for a step above Heroic Elite and possibly Mythic for a step above EE should accomplish a few things.

    1) Provide an extra level of challenge for people like the OP
    2) Have the same XP as its HE or EE counterpart.
    3) Have no effect on BB and not Count toward BB nor break BB
    4) Have same LOOT as in its HE or EE counterpart, both named and random gen loot.
    5) Have an end chest Legend/Mythic Token used in a reward system that offers Cosmetic Armor Kits in the form of a no ML Legend or Mythic Tabard for bragging rights.
    6) Feature a grind for Tabard to be upgraded with an Augment Slot or 2.

Okay. You're both wrong and your ideas are poor. Want more challenge? Do challenges. Do quests with substandard or no gear or buffs. Play in the Permadeath style. Find a more challenging game.

Their are plenty of options fro you that don't require the Devs breaking the game.

I didnt know that DDO has so much casual players scared of difficulty... I don t have to change my stuff, I worked hard to get it, I dont want to find another game, I like DDO, just that the game is not hard enough for completionnist and it s a real issue.

in other words, you do want to be challenged yet you don't???
so you don't wan't perma death, you don't want to bank your gear, you don't want to gimp your toon, you don't wan't a new toon, you don't want to try a different game, you don't want to put in any effort in challenging yourself.
you want devs (with a horrible track record) to take up the opportunity to break more parts of the game?
Honestly, isn't it time to admit to yourself that you have spend far too much time in ddo already? (i'm really baffled by the notion that someone got all their main toons up to triple heroic, triple ionic and triple epic completionist already).

Why are you all so scared to have a higher difficulty than elite ? You are not forced to play in a difficulty that you can t play cause your toon is not stuffed/build for it you know !!! Why a higher difficulty should (using your words) "break more parts of the game" ??? why ??? You are selfish and just thinking about your pride, scared to feel weak if you can t play in a new high difficulty, but don t forget that if you r not strong enough, just don t play it and play in normal difficulty. But when your are so strong that you don t have any challenge anymore, what is the solution ? why don t you want me to have a solution ? In your point of view, why can t I play with a character I love after all this work ? Why can t have I challenge ??? There is no solution on my side, and you can t agree with this cause of your pride. DDO is done to play a lot with all TR, ETR, ITR and you can keep your gear after each life and what ? In reality the game is not designed for completionist or almost completionist players, when you did most of lives, when you got best gears, you can t have challenge anymore in the game and it s really sad.

I really think they should add at least 1 level of difficulty after elite and maybe a second one... If they want to keep ancient players active...

like i said in another post, we don't need any other diff, just putting old champs back would make elite what is supposed to mean (if 99% of population is playing elite... well, it shouldn't be called elite, unless it's for ego purposes)

with that champ population boost, people should be able to get the stuff at 10k frags, or even put new version at 20k, idc

in fact, players who aren't able to play that diff, shouldn't care about it

hard should be like the current elite, that would mean the quest is hard, actually hard is easy, and normal... well, current normal diff should be casual

if people start crying about "we deserver to play elite to get that streak or that XXX" i simply would say, as in the champion feedback thread: you don't deserve anything for having X gear nor lives

and nowadays you don't need gear nor lives to play elite, even people without ED are running EE

i've run with em which 1st shocked me, then made me feel ashamed of DDO
psykopeta is finally baconpletionist because there isn't anything to delay it more - thelanis, where the gimps claim to be pros and noobs claim to be pros, no newbies allowed(unless they claim to be pros), we have enough drama w/o them. PS: I post only in the latest thread shown in main page, in the weird case u want something from me, feel free to send pm

I tend to see two threads repeated quite a lot; game to easy and game to hard. So from a developer standpoint whom do you please? Make the game harder and lose casual/new players or "keep" the game easy and lose veteran players. Tiered loot did not make everyone happy, the "best" gear went to the most powerful characters, thus increasing their power, and thus making the game "easier". The game and the players have been in an arms race for quite sometime. Pre Motu the end game was pretty standard, players got bumped with EDs, then ETRs (with past life and stances), ITRs (with past life and stances), Monk stances only requiring 1 level of Monk, level 3 giving the ability to have defensive stances, broken animal stances, enhancement pass, enhancement buffs, epic destiny feats, level 28 characters, and more powerful gear. The response to that was champions and the forumites got ****ed. The first wave of champions made the game tough, no more steam rolling and required some basic tactics. If a "new" difficulty were to be introduced in a few months well probably weeks, new builds would be created to make that content "easy" for the hardcore power gamers. I recently rolled a new character and I found some quests to be pretty tough without any past lives or gear.

If game is too easy on elite = no solution
If game is too hard on elite = choose another difficulty.

And no gimping ourself and that kind of stuff doesn't work. While it could, i'm pretty sure everyone would prefer to leave the game than not being able to have fun while using the stuff they took years to obtain.

I was more or less playing devils advocate. IF you are a veteran player with solid gear (Mortal Fear should have NEVER been introduced and TF breaks DRs), past lives, playing experience, and a great build the game "should" be easy. Every small bonus adds up over time to make the game "feel" easier. At this point anything short of a near impossible to complete quest or raid, with DCs that require a lots of past lives, gear, and skill, it will not be enough. Or we need to have a survival based quest, just hunting demon dragon undead beholders (with stupid high DRs, PRR, MRR, dodge, incorporeal, blur/displacement, resists/immunities, all champs, with Epic Destines, healing curses, rust damage, deflect arrows, night shield) on their plane while constantly taking SP, HP, and Stat damage. But that quest will only be run if the reward is worth it, thus eventually making the game easier again. I am close to maxing out the Epic Past Lives in my favorite spheres, am a Epic and Heroic completionist, and have been working on more power building with my TRing main. Can I solo EE? I have it just takes a long time for little reward.

The main thing that needs to happen is that the devs need to realize that people demanding more power to overcome any DDO "challenge" are not going to be longterm customers of the game, and that the nerfing of challenge will push away players that have been dedicated to the game for years as the game shifts from what it was and what they enjoyed to... something else entirely.
