Mostly patience yes, those djinns really didn't want to follow me.
It was easier than I thought it would be, the Marilith multi-weapon attacks kept my SP full because of Toven's Hammer so I didn't have to use scrolls.

Sorry for the late response, I'm on vacation abroad and have internet access for limited time and over long intervals.
