If you want to get the descriptions as text, the latest version of DDOBuilder has support for the Falconry tree.

If you looked in the Enhancements.xml file and search for "Falconry" it wikl take you right to it. All the text in the file was hand entered by me to match almost exactly whats in game via screenshots of every enhancement.
One of these days I am gonna start updating the wiki as well.

For google docs, I think you change the font to Courier and export it using the Plain Text format.
Yeah, that's not perfect, but definitely a vast improvement. Thanks. Should have thought about changing the font...live and learn.

    Awesome, thanks!

All my internal descriptions get overwritten when I crawl wiki, but it's nice for this temporary "patch" to get people through until I get this update out proper.

I have a question for the group about the Falconry tree.

There are a bunch of abilities that have two versions: Ranged (Shot) and Melee (Strike). Does Character Builder Lite need to faithfully reproduce that? The descriptions will be the same regardless, so that's not an issue. (Unlike feat descriptions, which I write myself, where there is a general feat description plus then the individual selectors have their own descriptions, like for warlock pacts, deities and cleric domains.)

I just get the feeling that the endless lists of "Shot or Strike" are kind of counterproductive. Someone following the build would know if they were melee or ranged, I would think.

What do you guys think? Should I keep the Shot/Strike selectors or just drop them from the entire tree?

That's a good question and one I was wondering when I was putting in descriptions above.

I don't feel strongly about it either way, but I am thinking it might be good to keep them simply because some active abilities, like Blessed Blades in Vistani, give both instead of making you choose. Because there's no real consistency in the way melee/ranged active abilities are given in the trees (some multiselector and some grant all), it might be less confusing to specify. If someone is creating the build for themselves, sure, they will probably know and keep track. But if they are newer, or if someone is sharing a build with someone else, it might be less obvious what is available to the tree.

On the other hand, I'm not sure that matters. I've been too long out of the new player game to be able to think about if that would be difficult or not.

I think you could probably safely get rid of it, maybe just add a note that "this is a multiselector between melee and ranged" or "this gives both ranged or melee" (though I think the ones that give both already note that in the official description).

My general preference is for consistency and I notice for other multiselector abilities you offer options: e.g. <Exposing Strike | Sniper Shot> or the various <Strike | Shot> abilities in Kensei.

That said, it's your builder, do what you want. The rest of us are just exploiting your hard work.

something very odd just happened. I opened the compendium and it was blank like I had never used it. Except I had 7 characters worth of data in there. Not a big deal to replace it, just trying to figure out if it was something i did? or an issue with Drop box, where I save it too, so I can access it on my laptop or my desktop.

No error message, just the tool tip you get when you first install it. Any ideas what might have happened?

That's disconcerting. All your character data defaults to the following text file:

    Save\Main.compendium

You can open and view it with notepad. The version of the compendium that you have has a hardcoded save path, directly under whatever folder the exe is in. Did that folder get moved or renamed, or did the file get deleted? If so, the compendium would create a new blank one and use that.

If it did get moved or renamed, you can copy it back over and it should restore it fine. If not, I'm not sure what might have caused that.

Looking into it on my end, did you have any notes or links in your old file, and did they also get lost?

Also, that Hi Welcome screen only appears if the RunBefore flag is missing (or set to False) in Settings.txt, and that file is in the same folder as the exe files. (Not your \Save\ path.) The fact that you saw that screen means your settings file was also probably missing, so something messed with files in two different folders.

Just checked the Save\Main.compendium file in Notepad. Just my first character name the saga list quest list etc. I did not knowingly move the file. and I have been running it out my DropBox for over a year without any issues before now.

I did not have any notes or links in there. I did just start using the saga tracker recently, maybe 2 or 3 days ago.

Now lucky for me, the DropBox website does have previous versions. So I was able to recover the data that way (was just too tired last night to consider this).

I could use some help on the wiki. All the coding for my next release is done, all the data changes are done, I'm ready to release. But when I crawled wiki I noticed that the following trees have not been updated for U39 yet:

    Angel of Vengeance
    Beacon of Hope
    War Soul
    Warpriest

I spent the last hour updating Angel of Vengeance, so that's all done, but I'm kind of burned out on updating wiki just now. (I also did the Falconry page a couple days ago.) Little help?

I just did War Soul. A lot of the changes for Warpriest should be able to be directly copied & pasted from there (exceptions being Core: Implacable Foe; Tier 2: Melee/Ranged Power; Tier 5: Divine Power & whatever the heavy armor version of Divine Champion is called). Even those should be able to be mostly copied & pasted with just a few changes. However, I have no clerics so I can't doublecheck with things in-game.

    Thanks much!

I did Warpriest while you were doing War Soul, though uploading icons is above my pay grade.

The Compendium got most of them from an image dump, so I stole them from there lol

EDIT: Also, if you've already crawled Warpriest, you need to redo it - Divine Power doesn't get the crit bonus.

    • Angel of Vengeance (Favored Soul tree) revamped
    • Warpriest and War Soul trees revamped
    • Tome max values and schedules now user editable using Data\Tomes.txt
    • Stats screen has new tab: Schedule
    • New Output format: Reddit
    • Spell output now includes character level

    Compendium v1.2
    • White Plume Mountain
    • Import characters from other Compendium files
    • Export characters to character planners
    • Tome max values and schedules now user editable using Data\Tomes.txt
    • Added missing tomes to the character screen
    • Compendium files can now be saved to somewhere else via Tools screen

Other than the obvious Update 39 stuff (falconry, white plume mountain, etc...), the things I'm most excited about in the release are:

Tomes are now user-configurable using Data\Tomes.txt. Change the max value of any tome style, and also set the schedule for the values apply for stat and skill tomes. This file is used by both Character Builder Lite and Compendium, and it means you won't have to wait for an official release to match when they (inevitably) offer new tomes in the store with bigger values.

You can now move your Compendium data files to somewhere other than Save\.

You can import characters from one compendium file to another, and you can export your tome and past life info to any of the three major character planner utilities.

At the last minute I threw in the schedule tab on the stats screen. It's clearly not my best work; I only spent around a half hour on it. But in my defense, I'm not sure I can fit any lines or anything on that screen; 31 data columns is a lot to cram into that little screen!

And finally, this may only have applied to me, but I have a really twitchy mouse, such that any time I clicked a slot to highlight it and view the detail on the feats, spells, enhancements and destiny screens, around half the time it would click on and off with a single mouse press, so I'd have to keep clicking and clicking until eventually it would highlight. This version fixes that, or at least greatly reduces it. On my end, instead of happening 50% of the time it's now more like 5%.

is there a way to increase the margins in the character builder? For me the text is the very left hand edge, I would prefer a bit of space. I think it makes it a bit harder to read without any margin. If not, no worries. Just thought I would ask
