This is awesome; I just wish there was a web version available.
Maybe I'll sign up for a generic / free VM.

Ghallanda - now with fewer alts and more ghostbane
Thanks for the planner.
I just came back to the game and it is quite helpful.
I submitted the program to Symantec to whitelist as my security software kept removing it unless I told it not to prior to loading it every time.
I received confirmation today: "Upon further analysis and investigation we have verified your submission and as such this detection will be removed from our products. The updated detection will be distributed in the next set of virus definitions..."
Thanks again,
DD

First of all, I want to thank you for this wonderful tool. I'm now using it to plan all my builds.
One item: Don't know if this has been reported previously, but I just started using it to plan epic destinies on my monk who's just reached epic levels, and noticed something odd. I went thru the Grandmaster of Flowers ED, filled it out, then switched to Legendary Dreadnought (her next destiny). I got a popup asking if I want to change to Legendary Dreadnought. I said yes, then went back and looked at Grandmaster. All the entries I had made are gone.
So, I filled them in again, then saved before switching to Legendary. Same thing ... switching wipes out all the entries in Grandmaster. I tried it with a couple of other destinies, and the same thing happens. This makes it pretty useless for planning ED's, and I'm assuming it's a bug, as the enhancements section doesn't seem to exhibit this behavior.
I tested with version 1.0.2 which I downloaded this morning.
That's working as I intended it to work, but I'm open to feedback.
My thinking with the design is that you can only have one destiny active at any one time. Why would you need to set up multiple destinies?
Using similar logic, you can only spend your 80 AP for enhancements one way. If you reset your 80 AP to spend them a different way, the first set is lost.
you logic is sound. KISS was and probably still is your design philosophy for this project. I understand why people would want to have multiple destinies filled out (provide build alternatives) - same goes to twists - but ultimately they can just make the changes and save to a new version of the build - because essentially that is what it is - a new version / variety.
Ultimately they can just copy and paste the relevant sections into the forums themselves.
However, IF you were to go back and add 'Alternative 1 / Alternative 2' for ED's and Twists... that would be allot more coding and significantly larger probability of overlapping bugs.
Just my two bitcoins.

I think the Martial Weapon Proficiencies are missing.
At least I did not find them when I wanted to make my pure FVS proficient with Falchions or Greatswords.
Martial weapon profs are an exception. The way they're currently handled is as a single feat that applies to all martial weapons. This single feat is granted to various classes like fighter, and can be taken manually by others like fvs. As a single feat with no selectors it can only be taken once, though, so you wouldn't be able to take both falchion and greatsword separately.
It's a selector of the feat Proficiency: Martial and is flagged as a "misc" feat. The original idea was to just take the proficiency: martial feat and then manually add the weapon type to the output as desired.
The reason I set it up this way is because auto-granting all possible martial weapon profs when you take a class level that grants them would be overwhelming in the granted feat list, and most of the time when builds want to manually take a martial prof they only want to take one of them.

first and foremost, wanted to echo many others in saying thank you for all the work you put into this. I just downloaded and tried using it today and am really liking the approach you took. things like the table array for skills makes it so much easier to see how you want to allocate points.
all was going smoothly until I got to the enhancements section. I was able to select the trees I wanted but every time I went past the first core enhancement, I got a run time error "5" -- invalid procedure call or argument.
couple examples -- selected core 1 - Arbalester - under the rogue mechanic tree. that worked but got the above error went I tried to add sharpshooter
selected core 1 - Agent of Good I - under the Harper tree. that worked but got the above error went I tried to add Strategic Combat I
I checked the files and the latest data files, 5/13/15, are loaded in the folder.
did I miss installing something? or doing something wrong in trying to select enhancements?
Nope, you did nothing wrong, that's a clear bug. I'll take a look.
I think your builder is insane!
The system it self is on point. User friendly.
If you could slap a good looking interface on that and ... well this game had more players that would be something worthy for turbine to sell !
Anyways.. Really great work. small learning cure from using the other one for so long but this one is going to be a new favorite.
Nefatron - Nefron - Nefrous - Ya Know What... Just Call Me NEF ~ Ghalland ~
figured out what I did that causes this error message and can consistently reproduce it.
-- open up main program, you get the summary display with the options at the top
-- open up my saved file
-- open edit / enhancements and you get a secondary UI screen
-- go to the enhancements tab on the secondary UI screen
-- minimize the main UI screen, leaving the enhancement UI screen open on the screen
-- make any changes to enhancements and I get the run time error
if I left both the main and secondary UI screens open, then the enhancement screen worked perfectly.
I was minimizing the main UI screen so I could have the DDO wiki and the enhancement UI open side by side on my screen so I could see the enhancement descriptions on the wiki. but work fines to leave your main screen open and manually adjust the size instead of minimizing it
sorry for putting you through a false alarm for user caused error
Ah, that makes sense.
Note that it doesn't have anything to do with the enhancements screen; the same error happens if you change the build in any way on any screen when the main form is minimized. That's a pretty sloppy bug that I'll fix, which is very easy to do. (If main form is minimized, don't draw on it. Duh.)
Thanks much for the bug report.
I swear I don't give rep more than about once a month, but somehow I can't rep you. I need to go find some newbie to rep so I can come back and rep you for this.
Very nice work!

I would like to use your builder, but when I tried your links I ended up with Cassiopesa Malware on my computer. Spent an hour of my valuable playing time removing it.

That's a bummer. Unfortunately I don't know what to tell you; as far as I'm aware, there's no virus in my code (complete source code is available for inspection or even compiling yourself) and MediaFire appears to be a reputable download service.
If it's relevant at all, version 1.0.2 has been downloaded 746 times with no issues other than a couple false positives, and both of those times the anti-virus companies added exceptions to prevent the false positives.
On another very large, reputable message board I frequent there have occasionally been issues with people getting infected by advertisements. When I first tested Mediafire as a possible host I had to disable my adblocker to get it to work, but ever since that first time I can use it with adblocker enabled. It wouldn't shock me if something came through in an ad. Which stinks, but barring setting up my own hosting site I'm not sure there's any fix for that.
Just completely throwing it out there for an idea:
How about a torrent option as well?
(Not that that would be any safer or reliable..)
(Just trying to help out)
But would offer a different method of acquiring it. Again just totally throwing ideas at the dart board!
Keep up the great work for DDO! Cheers! :P! ! !
