If that's how copying and pasting the text file ends up, I think it might be a browser issue unrelated to the builder.

Thanks for the head's up. I'll make that change when I update the rogue trees when U25 goes live.

    I suspected as much.

I'll be surprised and more than a little annoyed if it isn't ML27.

I posted the complete source code (linked in OP) if anyone would like to play around with it. Fair warning that Visual Basic 6.0 is fairly tough to find nowadays, but what the heck, I figured I'd post it anyway. The project clocks in at right around 15,000 lines of code, plus another 2500 lines in generic helper functions.

I did take a look at some online version control services like SourceForge and GitHub, but I'm not really in the mood to mess with that. VB6 source code includes binary files, so it doesn't play well with others. Not that it can't be done, just more effort than I'm into right at this moment. If someone else wants to get the ball rolling on that, by all means go for it.

Tried it out, pretty nice and complete... Just have to know pretty well enhances for all classes, as there's no description for them (you did warn us, tho...)
Maybe it's a stupid question, and I just didn't notice, but I can't find where to apply skill tomes... happened when I tried to build a KotC SWF Pally...

no ability to apply skill tomes was included - was thought to be irrelevant to core idea of 'lite' design.

My understanding is that skill tomes don't help qualify for feats; only trained ranks meet prereqs. Is that not correct?

Actually, as stat tomes do count for prerequisite purpose, skill tomes do the same... I'm just thinking about Single Weapon Fighting and Balance Skill points...

Have you confirmed in-game that skill tomes satisfy feat prereqs? I think skill prereqs work differently than stat prereqs due to having "trained ranks." If skill tomes worked, then stat mod probably should too, and stat mod does not.

    I haven't tested it in-game, though.

easy peasy - just go to lamannia and build something that needs skill points - make sure one short - try leveling and taking feat to verify - then use sir poincealot to buy skill tome and try again.

I no longer have access to lammania. (Haven't used a Turbine launcher since they added akami netsession to it last year.)

The only confirmation I have is on Lamannia (since on live I have a Vanguard pally and I still have to ETR to try the SWF version), but I tested a SWF pally taking the SWF feat @ lvl3, ISWF @ lvl6 and GSWF @ lvl12.
Starting INT is 9 (and a +3 INT tome) and I have a balance tome +4.
Starting skill points are 4 on intimidate and 4 (2 cause is a cross-skill) on balance.
@ lvl 2 I put my 2 skill points on intimi and UMD
@ lvl 3-6 I put my 3 skill points on intimi and 2 on UMD
@ lvl 7-10 I put my 3 skill points on intimi, UMD and Balance
@ lvl 11-15 I put my 4 skill points on intimi, UMD and 2 on Balance
@ lvl 16-20 I put my 4 skill points on intimi, UMD, Balance and Heal
    Tome of skill gives +1 @ lvl1, +2 @ lvl5, +3 @ lvl9, +4 @ lvl13
    Breaking down, my balance skill (w/o Dex mod) is 3 @ lvl1, 3 @ lvl3, 4 @ lvl6 and 9 @ lvl12, good enough to take all the SWF chain @ lvls 3-6-12...
Hope to be clear in my explanation... ^^

Actually the whole problem can be avoided... I just tried the same build, spending my skill points in Balance first and taking points in UMD after lvl 11... result is exactly the same, so... nevermind! XD

Well, not exactly the same. If skill tomes work, you could take the entire SWF using the highest balance tome in the game and only spending the remainder with trained ranks. (2 ranks w/+5 tome? 3 ranks w/+4? I don't know how high skill tomes go.)

Meaning if skill tomes do work, that's an unintended limitation of the builder.

I use python and DDO-ML; but thought akami went the way of the dodo --- gone for ages.

Love your builder, very clean, easy to use and understand. Great job.

In playing around entering one of my builds I realized that there is a missing Enhancement in the Swashbuckler tree, Blow by Blow. I'm sorry to say that I have not read this entire thread so please forgive if this has already been reported.

    Good catch, thanks much.

That's a weird one; I see it in the data file, and it shows up in Tools => View Data, but if I create a swashbuckler and go to the enhancements screen it doesn't show up, even if I choose Show All.

I'll figure out the problem and get it fixed for the official 1.0 release, scheduled for Monday-ish. (Plan is to update the rogue trees after U25 goes live then release 1.0.)

EDIT: Aha, I see the problem. In the data file, it doesn't have any "group" (melee/range/spellcasting/etc...) so it always gets filtered out of the enhancements screen. To fix it yourself now, search for Blow By Blow in Enhancements.txt and replace the entry with this:

    AbilityName: Blow By Blow
    Group: Melee, Range
    Tier: 1
    Ranks: 3
    Selector: Melee, Range

(It currently shows "Heroic, Melee, Range" as the selector list, which is clearly meant as the group line, but I removed "Heroic" from the group list for all enhancements a while back.)

Confirmed, I just ETRed my pally into a SWFer, took 2 ranks of balance @ lvl1 and still was able to take ISWF @ lvl6 even if my first skill points expended in Balance were @ lvl7, so skill tomes DO work for prerequisites (thinking about SWF & Balance, Songs & Perform...)
