Depends, are we shoveling snow, or are we using the word "shoveling" as a euphemism for "beat the Khyber out of" S.N.O.W., a Spell-Neutralizing Owlbear Warlock?
Just a random, forgettable NPC doing things an NPC does
Things that NPCs do include, but are not limited to:

Having a gold goblet over my head to indicate availability of a quest
Having a catchphrase that never really catches on
Having various rewards that are generally not worth the trouble
    Wandering around randomly
Giving out obvious information if it wasn't obvious enough

Otherwise, this is wilderness xp so it is incremental based upon how much is shoveled. Let's base it on Korthos since the world is a village:

    • Shovel 10 lbs of snow: 85 XP
    • Shovel 25 lbs of snow: 127 XP
    • Shovel 50 lbs of snow: 205 XP
    • Shovel 100 lbs of snow: 390 XP
    • Shovel 200 lbs of snow: 775 XP
    • Shovel 400 lbs of snow: 1,585 XP
    • Shovel 750 lbs of snow: 2,895 XP

Useful buffs: resist cold, rage, panacea, vigour
rest shrines have no time limit for re-use
Especially given the respawn rate of snow.

A Player? 1 XP point. You need 10 to level up in snow-shoveling, and you don't even need to see a trainer.
A character should get no XP for shoveling snow. It's a good light workout, but does not help you battle the creatures of DDO.

No xp as it's a civic duty. But after completing 12 store fronts, one receives +30 haggle with the local businesses.

Why shovel when you can send a few cyclonic blasts down the drive?

Better yet, just gust it over into your neighbor's yard.

How about 100 XP per cm., eh? Atlantic Canadians get less due to repeat penalty.......

Isn't that a form of Cannith Crafting? I don't know how the xp gets awarded there, because after a bit, Cannith Crafting seemed like a job and not fun at all. By all means craft your forts, balls etc. just don'tdon't make me do something ingame that repeititive and too much like real life.

The only quests I can think of where vast amounts of snow are moved are What Goes Up and Extended Haunted Halls (dragon causes avalanche). Considering how difficult those quests can be, I would say you should get quite a lot of xp for shoveling snow.

    XP for shoveling?

Well, it depends whether its heavy wet icy mixed snow or fluffy light snow.

Honestly, I would rather be iflying to Altaraxia Island and wald in the huge Jacuzzi with Jeets and his babes rather than shoveling any wet snow; doesn't matter what the XP is...

Now, if you are talking about some ichampion ice monsters within the snow you're shoveling, that's a different story...

    Default XP for Everything!

I dunno exactly, but if we start getting XP for shoveling snow we should also get XP for other things like: making lunch, emptying the garbage (trash mobs don't count), and sleeping comfortably, doncha think?

I think it should very much depend on the participation of the people around you...
like when you get home from work, and notice that everyone else in your house has not bothered shoveling snow yet, even though they were in fact at home while you werent... and you pick up the snow shovel and get started, and suddenly the other people in the house show up and tell you 'oh, you are doing such a jolly good job...'

in light of this, I suggest material rewards rather than XP, like... lots of rage potions, and definitely something that brings back the good old Party whipe effect on potions of wonder...

None -- any adventurer should have high enough UMD to use scrolls of fireball, avoiding any need for shoveling whatsoever.

according to my studies, if someone shovels snow they must get some hot coffee or tea to drink. So I came to this conclusion:

(x*y)/t= xp one will get from shoveling the snow

x=base xp of let's say, The Shroud per 100kilograms of shoveled snow
y=time he/she used to shovel snow. Measured in hours
    t= cups of coffee/tea drank

I think this is perfect formula to count the xp gotten from shoveling snow.

So if one shovels 200kgs of snow and it took 5 hours and he drank 8 cups of tea he would get (2*12,420xp*5)/8=7762,5 xp

Is this DDO snow shoveling? Then nothing.

You would have to complete a full campaign of shoveling in order to get your XP.

Finish about 200 house driveways and you will receive around 12,000 XP. If it's your first time shoveling the city you get a heroic bravery bonus of 50%.

Since I live in a country with no snow, I believe it is a mythical invention from those northerners, and as such, we all know illusions don't award XP.
