Default Phone closures due to inclement weather

    Hey everyone,

As many of you are aware, the Northeast is preparing for a potentially historic blizzard expected to start tonight and last into Wednesday. In order to ensure the safety of our customer support agents, we will be closing down the phones early today, Monday the 26th, and they will not be available tomorrow, Tuesday the 27th. The phones were scheduled to be closed on Wednesday the 28th for a company meeting, however if the weather is as bad as expected, there is always the possibility that closures may be extended.

I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. If you need to contact Account Support, please try to call as early as you can today and we will do our best to get to your call. Even when the phones are not available, you can contact us via email by filling out a support ticket at the website in my signature below. We will do our best to get back to you in a timely manner.

I hope that everyone affected by the weather stays safe and warm in the coming days!

    -Coldblue

Update: Phones will be closing at 3 pm today!

    ****************
Update 1/29: Sorry everyone, but phones are going to be closed again today. While the weather has improved, a number of us experiencing general weather related issues that prevented us from getting into the office. We hope to have the phones open tomorrow, but until then we'll do doing the best we can to get to your emails. Thanks for your understanding!

    ****************
Update 2/2: Well, there isn't a good snow equivalent of "when it rains it pours", but mother nature has certainly crit her initiative rolls so to speak. Phone support will be closed today due to another storm, and it looks like there may even be the possibility of another storm this week. I'll keep everyone updated in what has turned out to be a pretty "exciting" winter so far.

Break out the extra pair of thermal undies and hang on for the ride.

Is it just me, or is it oddly ironic, perfectly appropriate that Coldblue is the CSR rep that posted this?

    Seriously though stay warm guys.

Make sure you have all the emergency essentials in your home to survive a couple days without power/heat just in case. Hoping it doesn't get too bad up there. Be safe.

No fun when your Risia Ice Festival goes live on you.

Take care of yourself out there. We'll be fine.

Now you know how if felt to grow up in the Northwoods of Wisconsin!

Wish I could feel bad - but better you than us! :P

    *raspberry*

Seriously - stay safe by staying inside. Don't be a babaloo and drive unless you have a snowcat or snowmobile (and are from Wisconsin, Colorado, Alaska, Washington State, or New Hampshire).

Thanks for all the kind words everyone! We got lucky in that it could have been much worse, but it was still pretty rough, especially since it just kept... on... snowing. Looks like we might not be out of the woods yet and there may be even more snow coming soon. On the plus side, my snow shoveling and hot cocoa drinking skills are being put to good use!

As long as you're at home (and not planning on driving around), don't forget the Peppermint Schnapps for that hot cocoa.

Uurlock might be imaginary - but he does understand the needs of us mere mortals.

BTW - the best find your car when it is buried in the snow tool is your car remote. :P is too funny hearing that muffled honk honk... and the dim flashing of the lights.

That reminds me of that one trip to... hm, actually the place might be just about at 69.9N for latitude... I think it might have been my sister who'd been there previously, and left the shovel IN the shed. So we had to dig by hand until we found the door to the shed, after which the digging got a bit easier.

Wife hasn't agreed to going there since.

    Hey everyone,

For those of you not aware, the Northeast is being hit by another storm this week, and in the past few week's we've seen more snow fall than we usually get in the whole winter season. To once again ensure the safety of our agents, the phones are being closed today.

Customer Service is working very hard to get back to all of you who are experiencing issues, and we greatly appreciate your patience as we work to resolve your issues. I hope everyone affected by the weather is able to stay safe and warm.

You really should route the calls to the agents' home phones.

In this day and age of easy and cheap IP telephony, there's no real reason why CSRs and DMs can't work from home.

Enjoy what we had last year in Illinois. By now I had pulled out my snow blower a dozen times already. Fun memories.

Maybe you should move customer serve out here to sunny California.

Hope you all stay safe and warm.

We the Kobold Konsortium have gotten ahold of a stockpile of 'control weather' scrolls and our Shamans are going to pile it up!

They would need call tracking from their home phone and emergency call recording. Also DM's would need similar tools for harassment issues with their DM accounts.
