Default ESO to Go Free to Play*

    http://www.gamespot.com/articles/eld.../1100-6424769/

Seems like it wasn't long ago there was a debate about how much better and more money games could make doing just a sub vs free to play models. And how many people told me I was going to be wrong about ESO, that the sub only model could still work.

    I was right!

This is more the Guild Wars 2 model (buy the game once, don't pay again) than the DDO model, but hey it no longer requires a sub. Whether the game is good or not (doesn't matter) people will be checking it out and because they bought in once, will continue to check back, even if casually.

I did the beta and didn't find it worth buy & paying a sub (and playing DDO ), but now I'll take a second look.

I actually bought and subbed for 3 months. Not good. Every new land you went to looked exactly like the last one. For a new game the graphics were not paticularly that good. Eveningstar looks better. Those stupid get 5 roses and give it to the dude quests were stupid. Pvp was dominated by one build at that time. It seemed like it tried to be combination of alot of games without finding it's own niche. Think I'll stay here.
