Default Crucible - Test of Instinct

The "Test of Instinct" in the crucible should be revisted as to how to determine the "Correct" door. Currently the idea is to find someone with the lowest possible wisdom which is already COUNTER INTUITIVE IMO, but to do so with TR2 or greater characters is nearly impossible.. Right now we have a BARBARIAN in our Party with 24 Wisdom..

In the current state of the game, players are forced to just "randomly" pick a door over and over and over again in the hopes that eventually it will turn out right, rather then "Solve" for the correct door. Really, it needs to be changed how "Instinct" is solved.

For those who have a higher wisdom the three sets of clues will help you get it down two choice.

so you can get it down to 50/50.

But I do agree that at when this quest first came out it was much easier to find someone with an 8 wisdom when they stripped their gear. But +2 tomes were rare and even later when a TR would strip you of your tomes it was still possible to find someone that the book would not lie to you.

    Exactly.

High Wis, Low Wis, Russian Roulette are all ways you can pass this test. I like that there are different ways to beat this obstacle. Having a high Wis certainly is easier to find now than a low one tho heh.

russian roulette is the common tactic used to solve the puzzle these days. I agree that test needs a pass.

You are the one choosing not to play alts.

Casual player now investing way less than I used to into the game, playing 1-3 months at a time and still want nothing to do with Reaper. #improvepuggrouping#alldifficultiesmatter

I personally like High Wis as it makes me think for at least a second.

However, we are talking about Crucible. I really doubt there would be any change to make the puzzles more difficult. Although, the tears would be delicious.

I don't even see high Wis being used hardly, more opening door #1 over and over. I cant even think what could be done to make it more challenging that makes sense or deter from just opening the doors over and over without doing a total revamp of that test. pretty sad seeing quests like Crucible that I remember fondly being a fun challenge and now its just brute forced through. I remember the first time I ran Crucible I was on my barb and the group looking for lowest wisdom laughed because I had eaten a +2 wis tome making my wisdom 10. it took someone else stripping down gear to get theirs low enough and opening doors wasnt widely known as of yet.

It seems pretty random exactly which true clues you get with a high Wisdom. Sometimes it'll work out that you know exactly which single door is correct from the true clues from high Wisdom. But, yes, quite often, you can only narrow it down to two.

It would be nice if a high enough Wisdom (how high that is perhaps difficulty-dependent) guaranteed clues reducing it to a single door.
