Was trying to manage this Level 1 Korthos Village quest on Elite. My Charm Person Spell landed just fine but the charmed mob kept attacking my Hireling.
It eventually stopped attacking the hireling and instead attacked the crystal, breaking it in 3 or 4 swings because it was not a Champion...
Same thing happened on next run so I got help.
Ridiculous bunch of horse s' y'all...
Ridiculous I say.

Did you try a lower difficulty setting?
