    Default Offhand/Shield effect on Main Weapon: Keen or Impact or Nothing

    Dear All,

    I have spent time looking through the forums to answer a simple question;

    Can you put a KEEN shard on a shield so that it applies to the main hand weapon which I intended to be a slashing type weapon?

    What I found:

    In practice for Cannith Crafting you cannot put a KEEN shard on a shield

    In practice for Cannith Crafting you can put an IMPACT shard on a shield.

    I understand a shield is a bashing weapon and not a slashing weapon so it makes sense that you can craft IMPACT onto a shield and not KEEN.

    The purpose of an IMPACT shard is to double the base critical threat range of the weapon, bludgeoning type though.

    However, does this mean that crafting IMPACT on a shield doubles the base critical threat range on the main hand weapon if and only if it is a bludgeoning weapon?

    Or, does crafting IMPACT on a shield double the base critical threat range on the main hand weapon irrespective of the main hand weapon type ie bludgeoning/slashing/piercing?

    Or, does crafting IMPACT on a shield have no effect on the base critical threat range on the main hand weapon?

    Your input would most welcome.

    No: keen / impact only affects the item to which it is applied.
