    Default How's this build for use now?

    Hi Kent,

    Getting ready to do a Shadar-Kai Rogue life. Done a lot of ranged and casting lately so melee sounds like a fun change of pace and this build looked interesting. Anything that would possibly need to be adjusted to bring it up to date?

    I did this as a Shadar-Kai but will work same stats as a Halfling if you want to level him but I like Starting with Assassinate
    Improved Feint, Shiv, & Assassin's Trick will be your friends as all will let you get BS dam even when you have agro. Assassin's Trick will even let you BS things you normally can't like undead and such. don't worry about your low starting Cha bluff DCs are surprisingly low I use bluff, Improved Feint, and Shiv, all the time and with a cha augment slotted (so no need for best Cha item you can get), and a good bluff Item it is almost no fail I never spend build points on Cha for my Assassin so should be fine. same goes for wis and spot as spot DCs way lower then Search.
    P.S. this build was easy as I did not have to build it for you It was going to be my next life on my Assassin that was built before you could use Dex for Assassinate. I just have not got to it as I have alot of toons going

    Hello, a little about my character. Class and Racial completionist. +8 tomes. All classes, enhancement trees are available. While not ideal i can live with alignment and class changes through whatever lesser TR'ing i need to do.

    I'd like to see a build that can play low reaper and isn't useless if i join a higher level reaper group. Thanks

    Default Half-elf Eldritch Knight with Falchion

    Hi Kent, I've played for a bit, a long time ago, but haven't come to DDo for years. I'm thinking of playing a sort of Pirate Captain: a eldritch knight half-elf that uses a falchion. I have 32 pt builds available but dont have alc, art or monk classes. I have harpers though. I would like him to use the enchantment on EK that boosts magic with melee and melee with magic and also have good defences (thinking of half-elf dilletante barbarian and such). Hope this isn't an automatic gimp. Btw the falchion is totally mandatory :P Thank you in advance!

    I have a request. Not sure if anyone else has made a similar request or not. But I'm in the process of doing Completionist. Currently close to finishing my 4th life and getting ready to start my 5th life.

    Is there a list that you (or anyone here) has of the best solo builds for each class for someone wanting to do Completionist?

    I did see that you have a LOT of builds listed...and at a very quick glance I even saw once listed as "Warlock CC for my TRing EASY LIFES" ...which I assume means that's a good solo build for when I do my warlock life!

    But is there a list of one build for each class that is best for solo leveling for TR's?

    I know how it might look at a first glance but where the 1st build will have more Str & HP the 2nd one makes up for it in versatility it will not only have a BW but will be able to scroll heal, greater restoration, teleport, ...
    Hey Kent, I came across these 2 builds you did a while back for troublegurl. I liked the second one and thought I'd try it, but I have a few questions.

    First, I can only do a 28 point build rather than the 32 you specify. Where would you recommend cutting back?
    Next, I'm a bit concerned about the modifier penalties for the 6 DEX & 8 WIS dropping reflex saves to -2 and will saves to -1. You do have Feat: Insightful Reflexes to use INT instead of DEX for reflex saves, but not until level 18. Could it be moved earlier without disrupting things too much? I hate to wait until L18 before fixing it. Or are DEX boosting items common enough to do that instead? And what about the will saves? Would it make sense to swap in Feat: Force of Personality to use CHA instead of WIS for will saves? Or is that also better handled with a +WIS item?

    Default Returning Player Looking For First Life Ranger Build

    I haven't played DDO in years and wanting to come back. I'm looking to give Ranger a try. I'd like to focus on bow. Otherwise, there's not much point in playing Ranger to me. I can do multi-class. If another class for a first life would be better for returning player, I'm open to suggestions.

    So I went all-in on the FW short swords as you said hope this is what you where looking for.

    Note:
    I found something worth mentioning as the tooltip does not give the whole story on "You've Got My Back" from the Feydark Illusionist tree it says it just gives you the protection from Magic Missiles but the whole effect is "Your familiar draws ambient and offensive magics to it, protecting you from Magic Missiles as if you had the benefits of the Shield spell. In addition, the Shield spell now provides +10 Physical Resistance Rating, and the Nightshield spell now provides +10 Magical Resistance Rating. Note: the increased PRR from the Shield spell does stack with the Improved Shield Enhancement from the wizard Eldritch Knight tree." So remember to keep these up as much as you can.
    I also got Familiar's Flourish I & II so you can still use real Short Swords as you find them with Cha. In end game, the conjured blades just can't compete with some of the ones you can equip you can still Enchant your weapons to become Shadowblades and will change their material type to Force and grant them additional bonuses. This is considered an Item Enchantment.


    i so want to do this but with twf 2 short swords i was wondering would i have to make any major changes to this beside the swf to twf??? this looks really good just want to find twf build that buffs short swords

    Have you looked at the Build Repository? There are several TWF builds for bards, paladins, rangers, and rogues (possibly others, I just took a quick look).

    Iam looking for an upgrade to my build 12 Ranger/6 Monk/2 Fighter - Human, 3 past lifes on monk, 1 on rogue, and this present one will be on ranger, have +8 tomes on every stat and i start with 36 build points.
    The goal is to reach end game as a good damage dealing and be able to do R10 with no big problems, also aiming to solo the most i can all the way up to lvl30 ( not a lot of parties now...)
    Usually i use Shuriken in main hand and a thunder forged short sword off hand, got all the gear from Sharn ( easy to farm and very good ).
    My build was based on a post from 08-01-2015, 04:10 AM by jakeelala, to whom i thank you very much and goes as follow:

    "Starting Stats (rough guidelines, depends on 28/32pt build):

    I would like some advice for a more updated build to play U50 as iam sure a lot have changed meanwhile.....

    Please let me know of any sugestions, because i really love to play as a thrower with Shurikens.

    Hi Kent,
    I wanted to see a build for a Dwarven 1handed thrower. i was thinking bard, for SB. Ranger for feats and Arti for the extra goodies, rune-arm, lever puller.
    I have looked and plenty of builds for thrower just none for an axe or hammer one.

    So I'm not the only one. This has been a thought of mine for some time. As a matter of fact, the first build I posted on this thread was an Axe thrower named "Axedental Death" I was all in SwashBuckler Axe Thrower: 2 Rog /10 Bard / 8 Art. I ran it and loved it even tho back then it was far from optimal even when I went out of my way to get some good axes before running it
    I have myself just come back to the game after almost a year of playing way too much "POE" lol but now with the new Epic Destiny changes, I am back. That being said if you can give me a week to look at everything that has changed I will give this a go. My last attempt was 3 years ago which is not posted here was a throwing axe Fig (Kensei)/Bard (Swashbuckler)/Arty. That one was way better than the first one posted 7 years ago.

    OK so was done with this two days ago but I just was hoping with all the new changes I was missing something but not much has changed for this one they still seem to want you to throw anything other than Axes or hammers, but dam it an axe to the head from way back just sounds cool. I know you said "Ranger for feats and Arti for the extra goodies" but Fighter gets you all the feats you need & Rogue gets many of those goodies but swash empty-handed is the better plus you get evasion & backstab.

    I haven't seen any new builds on this thread for quite a while. Maybe it shouldn't be stickied any more since none of the builds are viable in today's game.

Some few would have to be adapted where feats have changed (and all Epic Destinies have been reformated), but most of that is pretty intuitive.

    And - and perhaps more to the point - I'd wager that any build on this list would be better than what the average "How hard can it be?"* newbie throws together. So it's a win no matter what.

    @ New Players: As with ANY older posts, if you find an older build, post it (via a link) and simply ask "Is this current (enough)?" You'll get the thumbs up/down, and/or steps to bring it up to speed.

    It's interesting that you find my post "laughably incorrect" and then go on to prove my point with your first three comments. Now, if there is someone out there willing to rework all these builds for today's game, I'd agree with you. Otherwise, I stand by position that a thread of character builds that have not been updated since Fables of the Feywild came out should not be highlighted.
