    you are so right don't kn ow what I was thinking so I fixed it in the build the AP was much better spent on Execute for the same line of thought as the action boosts to stack up Fatal Harrier fast (stacks up to 5 times for +25% attack speed), and the boosts not only are good for there own +'s but you want as many as you can get for running in Legendary dreadnought for Combat Brute: Passive Bonus: You gain +1[W] damage with melee weapons and deal +50% damage to helpless opponents while any Action Boost is active.

    thank for this. I am excited to get started in this in a few levels. So should I gear up armor wise like a monk? What should I focus on?

    ED: Legendary DreadnoughtTwist:- Sense Weakness- A Dance of Flowers- Ephemeral Evolution- Rejuvenation CocoonNotes:- At level 12 you can go tier 5 TA then at 15 switch to Kensei you won't be able to get Weapon Group Specialization till level 24 when you get Weapon Specialization feat just get Extra Action Boost III till then.- Combat mastery and insightful Combat mastery are your friends - you say you have some good Quarterstaffs these are my favorite for heroics Theurgic Stave, and Bone Crusher.     Hi Kent, nice thread you have here.


    One of the recent Dev Posts intrigued me very much,
    and I was thinking about moving my Completionist toon in that direction.

    +7 ability tomes
    +5 skill tomes
    will have all available Past Lives very soon
    Crafting level is high enough to make whatever, might have to farm some collectables.
    Have lots of raid equipment, can craft or obtain about anything given enough time.
    Slow on making Slayers gear as I tend to shift classes, have Str + Con built.

    Have Bauble, Epic Ring of Spell Storing.
    3x Qstaff greensteel solid fog clickies

    Only have electric greensteel longbow, but could pull some augments off other legendary greensteels to make Salt,
    Vacuum, Ozze, Con Op (or leave them on caster sticks)

    Looks like you thought this out quite well.

    Good luck with the Lamania Build, and pardon my rambling about your great build...


    Wisdom - 18 (with level ups)
    Dexterity - 16+ (without level ups)
    Int - 14ish

    Elf is shorter than Half Elf with more constant bonuses, along with spell pen working towards AA.

    53ish points usually gets everything one needs from Season's Herald.
    10+ points to get into AA
    20+ points to get Paralyzing Arrows.
    So action points are very doable.


    Feats do look a bit tight.

    Point Blank - Precise Shot - Improved Precise Shot
    {Definitely needed.}

    Zen Archery - Rapid Shot - Manyshot
    {Probably can forgo, even though they would be nice to have).
    {The moment one presses manyshot, some fool player will need healing...lol}

    Completionist - Past Life: Arcane Initiate - Quicken
    {Definitely needed.}

    Empower - Maximize
    {Would be nice to have going thru levels 9 to 20 at least.}
    {Could swap out later or not.}

    Spell Focus _____
    {Hmm...Evocation vs Enchantment??}
    (Twisting Magistar's [Spell School] Augmentation would work better with evocation, so leaning towards that.)


    Epic Feats?

    Possibly two heroic feats?

    Master of Wilds
    {Maybe if one is keeping empowered and/or maximize metamagics?}

    Burst of Glacial Wrath
    {Interesting option for increased CC.}

    {Nice to have, but better slotted on an item since feats are very tight.}

    (Double shot is a nice nod to the bow, and might somewhat replace the lack of Rapid Shot?)


    Dire Charge or Spirit Blades or Arcane Pluse
    {Although Dire Charge is an interesting option, one would need to swap to melee weapon and actually hit the target.
    Given the secondary focus on dexterity, I don't see that as an option.}
    Spirit Blades actually works well with Shirdai, and Arcane Pluse is well know as a good option.


    Legendary:

    Scion of the Feywild or Air or Fire or ?
    {Feywild gives a strong nod to paralyzing arrows, supports shirdai sonic procures, and grants much loved healing amp.}
    Air supports Earthquake DCs
    Fire grants more dps.




    Very interested to see you take on the subject.
    Druids tend to go thru a lot of spell points, so being able to use a bow to paralyze instead casting a 3rd earthquake sounds interesting.


    Also, thoughts on Elf vs Half Elf vs Morninglord for race?

    Mass Deathward might be nice to have.

    Default Dr. Horriblles Robo Ryu Build

    Hey Kent,

    So ever since you created the robo Ryu build I wanted to make one myself. Soo i have a +20 Heart of wood waiting in the bank for it and have bought the bladeforge so im all set to do it, So far my plan was to make a 2 pally 18 wk first with him being bladeforge.. for the sole purpose of getting to level 20 easly since wk's are strong and I will have my wk gear still on him then the second i hit twonty ltr with the +20 and do the robo ryu build for his last life. So..

    Stats tomes I have, and i will have a +5 tome from favor going to where you say i need it the most

    Arenthian is an old crotchety grandpa who can't handle the beauty of your builds. Help his number one son, me, with my build instead

    I also haven't played for several years, and am coming back from playing mostly Pathfinder RPG so my grasp of 3.0 and 3.5 D&D builds and rules has slipped a bit. I am trying to create a barbarian (cleric/flavored soul), but can't find the feel for it. I know you can't cast spells while raging, so mostly cleric would be for buffs and out of combat healing, though dropping rage and stepping back to heal when necessary and negate negative effects.

    Any advice on a viable build, or is the concept too messy to be effective?

    The dex is great but I don't see weapon finesse or a way to add dex to damage instead of strength. Wouldn't that greatly weaken TWF if he's only getting +2 STR to attack and damage?

    At level 3 you get 2nd core in Tempest tree (Tempest: +10% stacking chance to make off-hand attacks when dual wielding weapons. You now treat Scimitars as if they were light melee weapons. While you are dual wielding, you can use your dexterity modifier to hit with light melee weapons.), and Tier Two in Deepwood Stalker tree (Improved Weapon Finesse: You can use your Dexterity modifier for damage when wielding bows, thrown weapons, and melee weapons with which you can use your Dexterity modifier to hit. The Weapon Finesse feat is NOT required to take this enhancement.

    Note: Handwraps are Unarmed strikes, not Melee Weapons. Weapon Finesse makes this explicit distinction.
    Does not apply to crossbows.
    Applies to Thrown weapons.
    Applies to Scimitar, if it is considered a light weapon for your character.

    Yah so all that Dex to hit & dam for your bow and Scimitars. That 14 Str is just so you can get Power Att
    12 AP to get both so you will have them at the end of level 3 until then just grab a Great Axe and use that like I would with a caster to save SP at low levs unless you can start at lev 4 or 7 then you should be good to go

    Hi Kent. Thanks for making this thread. Looks like you've helped a lot of players, hopefully I can get a build too. I've played DDO for a long time, but I don't really know how to work the system for the best effect.

    I play solo (with hirelings), but I don't need this character to be awesome. I'm not looking to do Reaper difficulty, or even end-game quests on Elite. I just need to be able to work my way through most stuff.

    I'd like to use two-weapon fighting (preferably rapiers or shortswords) as well as a bow (not crossbow) on occasion (mostly to do some damage before getting into melee, or if I need to kite something to stay alive).
    I need to be able to do rogue stuff; locks & traps mostly, but if you can work in some stealth I wouldn't mind.
    I would also like to use arcane spells purely for buffing. I'm not trying to affect monsters in any way so I don't care what my DC would be.
    I'll have to rely on potions/hireling for healing I guess, can't spread myself too thin.

    It has to be human, I really don't like the models/animations for most other races.
    I have Past Lives: Fighter and Ranger, and just finishing off Bard.
    I also have +3 tomes for all stats, but I can increase those a bit if needed for the build.
    It would be a 34pt build, I guess...haven't made a new character in a while, but that sounds right.

    Here as you can see at 21 I take Evocation focus to kinda make up the loss of Strength of the Solstice(+1 envo DC) & Hierophant( +2 wis = +1 envo DC ), and with [Evocation] Specialist twisted in you come out 2 ahead. Then you get that big fury shot on top of your bow just doing a lot more damage all the time. some other trade offs to. So feel free to ask why I did this or that some back and forth sometimes makes a build better!
    I would play around with both at 20 then decide more Bow or more Spell
    P.S. Can't think of why Arcane Warrior was not at least given a honorable mention in the OP with a build that uses a weapon & cast so much.

    I think one has to decide with a build where the damage will be coming from, and focus a certain amount of resources to that damage.

    With that in mind, I approve the increased focus on the longbow (do short bow attack faster?),
    and would remove taking Maximize at level one from the build (which makes room for taking quicken about the time one gets
    Heal/Earthquake/Sleet Storm/Freedom of Movement range).

    Focusing on multiple styles of damage is counter productive in a way.

    Really looking closely at Dragonborn Druid focusing on Caster damage to compare the two builds.

    Points of note:

    Same toon, has 10 free racial action points, +7 ability tomes, +5 skill tomes, all Past Lives available.
    Will have 4/3/2/1/1 twist slots (or some variation above).

    Dragon Breath Weapons now accept all Metamagics.

    Which Element to choose (Fred seems to grant possible easy feat swaps for level 1 color)?

    Shirdai vs Primal vs Draconic?

    I have to look at Primal again, but its mostly broken Tree Form which I am not interested in using.

    Master of the Wild feat (the main reason why I might not go Draconic {except for certain raids})?

    Taking Ruin/Greater Ruin (which locks out Master of the ____ & Burst of Glacial Wrath.
    (Nice burst damage, but its very resource intensive on a class that uses a lot of sp already.)

    Enlarge is getting a lot of praise lately with the new Reaper mode.

    Hellball vs Forced Escape vs Spell Power?

    Summons/Pets are nice, but they get toasted in Reaper, so no feats spent there atm.

    Wondering what to make build?

    DD, fast movement, haste, reasonable dps, knock, bit of healing (maybe via scrolls), and whatever else might help in Cannith Challenges?

    I'd like to see a Challenge Farmer for a F2P/Premium account, one that's not dependent on bought classes/races (if that's even possible?).

    My main account has what it needs np, but my alt account is bare bones, and that crafter could use some Cannith love, and I bet lots are in that position, or close to.
