    I see it's been FIVE (or six) DAYS since the original post, and no reply at all from anyone with any ability to do anything about it.

    But I see the usual fecal matter, "Must be YOUR computer!", "Must be YOUR internet!".

    You're the same people who say, "Give the devs a break they have a really tough job!".

    since the hot fix (and maybe since the last major update) i've had a lot of issues with lag myself as had several other people in my guild. all of us are u.s. based but in excess of 800 miles of one another.


    crippling lag is an accurate description of our issues. when this happens sometimes i switch to a different server and the lag issues seem to completely disappear, although i cannot prove this to be true it sure seems it.

    there does not seem to be a rhyme or reason to this as it can happen at all hours of the day.




    just to repeat this has only really started since the last hot fix.

    Khyber last night (for the daily report I lagged 3 times in the only quest I played for about an hour), I noticed this:



    I don't think this is WAI?
    Could be tied with the lag lately?

    Edit: This was not the only occurence. Every ship instance had extraordinary IDs.

    Usually when hit by a lag spike the mobs get their free hits in while you're helpless to do anything about it. When the "lag" clears up, there is the barage of damage numbers and hit effects (like invisibility guard from the mabar cloak) as things sync up again. Commonly, death if the spike lasts long enough. The lag going on now is something different.

    Noticed last night:
    (The ingame latency icon stayed in the green with a drop rate of 0.0% to 0.1% through all of these)
    Traps don't appear to be going off as much as they should during a spike. Inferno of the Damned, stranded in a blowdart trap, I don't think it went off more than 4 times in a ~30 second rubberbanding spree (by the damage ticks. I didn't check my combat log ).

    Standing next to my owlbear and a pockethealer in Ghosts of Perdition during a spike. Once every few seconds you could see a single damage tick from one of them, not near as frequently as they normally hit, and nothing from my character until the spike ended.

    Devil's Assault, the third wave, rubberbanding begins to happen but some movement is still possible. A single Bezikira spawns in by himself when there should have been the full batch. Hitting him was possible but only once every couple seconds. When the bezekira was almost dead everything else came in like it should have and the pace resumed.

    Same DA run, end of the third wave. I hit the rest shrine and pop up. Try to run back to center of the room and character is dead frozen. Waited until mobs would probably be spawning into the room and try to run again, still frozen. Character remained like this for about a minute, "I should be dead by now.", then smooth as anything the shrines fade out and the orthons pop in at the portals and the pace resumed as it normally does.

    Whatever the problem is, it's server side. It's also bad enough that the mobs are having trouble spawning in and figuring out what they're supposed to be doing. I probably would have been dead during each of those spikes if the server were doling out the damage that things normally do.

    I'm wondering if something was missed when the Khyber server was started up after the hotfix. The timing would be about right.

    For the last couple of hours or so...it's been brutal...absolute show stopping...worse i've ever seen it...yet i don't see any posts within that time frame about how bad it is...so i know me and the guy i'm questing with are having issues..and the server appears to have lots of folks logged on...am i imagining it lol, or are posts not coming through..or is everyone chatting on vent and waiting...

    Playing on Sarlona atm. Why go back to the lag that is Khyber? Although Sarlona seems to be mostly lag-free, we did experience 2 lag moments at the end leaving 2 party members with a perma ice storm

    Also, why keep posting if we already said what we had to say?

    It does 'seem' like an attack. But I doubt it. You might not have been around when the DDOwiki was dd'd, it was down for weeks, and weeks. All because some turd noob got mad (about some stupid shizz). I think that turdbin is pretty much immune to hacktard damage. But, you never can tell.

    I've heard it all about this lagstorm.

    Personally, I think Honeybadgers fell into Flynns laser portal, and are now chewing on our small ingredient sacks.

    I remember when the worst lag I had to worry about was upon loot generation during Shroud runs.

    And all you noobs who think it's about individual computers, really need to just shut your bitholes.

    I expect some lag in DDO but Khyber is a mess has been for a week. My other servers are fine. When this lag comes it hits the entire party i have yet to see any group where its just me. It makes the game unplayable as you cant move or fight. As an example its 8am EST here not exactly prime load time for this server and my party just wiped in Running with devils because we could not move or see incoming damage. .. it would clear for a minute or two then start again. We all ended up logging as its pointless to try to play.

    I have guildies who have been on this server for 6 years now starting over on other servers... or sadly leaving ddo altogether. People dont make that type of change for imaginary lag.

    Wanted to play on Khyber lag is unbearable latency shows 0% its very strange.

    The lag is fooked. Solo something till the end then get wiped.. Waste of time trying to game.
    Any devs actually working??No reply from anyone.

    Looking on Khyber now (15:22 GMT) most ships have 30 or so instances, the daedalean Kraken has 1300 or so.

    Depends on the ship popularity. How many guilds with members on a windspyre sparrow could there be? It should have an ID of 1 to 5. 30 is a bit much. Could be a non-issue (like Turbine assigning IDs like UNIX assigns PIDs - always incrementally) but could be a case where old instances do not get deleted and cause memory leakage.

    Windspyre Sparrow - none
    Windspyre falcon - 61
    Windspyre Griffin - 66
    Volant Signet - 25
    Volant manifest - none
    Volant Alcazar - 22
    Stormglory Bolt - none
    Stormglory tempest/typhoon (forgot which) - 109
    daedalean Glaive - 18
    Daedalean Trefoil - 101
    BUT - Daedalean Kraken 1,274!!!!

    This looks very odd to me - is it just spawning mre and more instances?

    Default Unplayable and totally frustrating

    Have tried playing at lower peek times, solo only, checking instance and avoiding 2049 and 2050, and 2051 when possible. Doing this takes 10 to 15 min as every instance wants to load into 2049 it seems. ( Well maybe not every but 90% seem to no matter who checks it!) I am calling account services Monday and complaining, asking for some sort of rebate, and generally *****ing. I want to know why no one was working who could do a restart at least and see if that fixed it.
