    Default Wizard summoner melee fighter

    Hello all

    I wanted to make a melee wizard with the ability to summon monsters. Is this duable? I will only play him till level 20 and then TR. The reason for this is i like summonings and am just about to finish a life as a druid. I guess the wizard can only have two summonings like the druid and artifficer right? the skeleton knight and the summon monster spell. On higher levels i think my UMD will be high enough for casting summon monster on scroll but i would like to have atleast the first 12 levels to be wizard. I need to solo with him so disabe device search spot are mandatory.
    I also thought about making a artificer 10 wizard 10 so i can have an iron defender and a skeleton knight but i am not sure thats a good idea...

    Any ideas?

    edit: Just tested it. it is not possible to have iron defender and wiz skelly at the same time

    I think you can have only one of the pets (wolf, arti dog, wizard skelly) active at the same time, and one summon in addition to the pet. Arti and druid pet levels depend on class level, Id assume the same goes for wizard skelly (ddo wiki says wiz lvl+epic lvl).

    Also, summons and pets are rather weak in epics.

    Melee wizards are doable, especially with harper tree.

    edit: maybe try 18 wiz 2 rogue harper with quarterstaff, nice melee, still good casting, strong skelly.

    Default Staff weilding artificer

    Here is my suggested build. Art 18 2 rogue. Good iron defender and the ability to cast summoning scrolls using umd. This build is far from done so please only look at feats at this point. I wanna take the int to dam from the harper three.

    the feat order can be changed. Espicially improved THF can be taken instead of great cleave since the rogue gets sweeping strikes.
