    Default Ridiculous flavor-build related question

Can't find any definitive answer on this, which leads me to believe the answer is no, but what the heck: does Flame Blade count as an actual weapon in your hand? Can it be imbued with an Eldritch Knight weapon enchant? Can you Eldritch Strike with it? Kind of wanted to make a flavor build with an EK/Druid that uses a flaming scimitar. I'm sure it'd be horribly suboptimal even if it did work, but hey...flavor build. Just trying to figure out if the pieces fit before I take the time to start leveling.

Hope you all had an awesome holiday, thanks for any help : )

While I can't answer this, and don't have much experience with Flame Blade, I've heard that it really loses effectiveness in epics.

Oh and Flame Blade uses wisdom modifier for attack and damage, so that doesn't mesh so well with EK.

I'm 90% certain, while fooling around, that I've used Magic Fang and Frostbite on a flameblade. Which suggests to me that they count as actual weapons in terms of all weapon buffs. I know that you get the visual of a scimi.

You can do this entirely without Druid levels (and thusly gimped flameblade levels) by taking the Druid active past life. The blades then scale on your character level. Allow you to splash more optimal things if you want. If you're intent on druid splash, I'd still recommend the active feat. Otherwise your flameblades will lose caster levels eventually.

Hmmm, do weapon buff like enchant weapon and the like mess with its DR breaking ability like the do Celestia?

Never used flame blade and am assuming its fire damage is similar to Celestias light but could be way off, also the wiki says it's capped at level 20 is that true or does it scale up to 25 or maybe 30? If the PL version scales off of character level then what about if you have stuff like Arcane Augmentation, Greater Might of the Abishai and FvS AoV stuff, doesn't scale up to 36?

Caps at 20. In my personal experiences messing with stuff like the Warpriest weapon line (using an elf or half elf for Undying Court) I noticed there wasn't any breaking of the DR, at the same the DPS increases seemed marginal at best. Due to the coding of Flame Blades I would say most +W effects are broken. Perhaps a paladin splash with Holy Sword could see more greater effects out of it, damage wise. You can cast most weapon buffs on it. Used them during a melee artificer life due to the fact they're pretty amazing at destroying most mobs up until vale, and even there they still deal decent damage. Just non-instakill worthy damage.
