actually you can do any number u want - i did 500 at a time... you put the 100 in the box -then where the 1x is type over with 500 then hit the "start" button as they go away drag another 100 on top of the coins being redeemed and they go back to 100..... just keep dropping a new stack on top of the stack being consumed and you can go till you're full .... hope the tip helps... Again Festivualt is a left over from the era of MMO's where giving players anything but trivial garbage was seen as a huge no no, because developers thought they could keep players playing for years by stringing them along with useless baubles that don't give any significant power. The same sort of thing can be seen in many early MMO's like UO and EQ where 0.1% (that's a tenth of a %) drop rates on anything good, and 99.9% spam of triffling garbage was the normal "standard operating procedure" leveling character in these games was a years long process, and character power was doled out in the most tiny increments possible, leading to advancement of your character feeling completely hopeless and unimpressive.
That said it does look like they further nerfed the drop rates to be even more triffling... judging by previous years tracker threads where people like Impaqt (I think) got multiple high level Tomes (+4 or +5 can't remember).
