    Default PVP content

I start playing DDO on Beta test and saw this game pass through a lot of updates since its launch. But unfortunately most of them are just a bunch of stuff that DDO dont really need (like iconic heroes, astral shards, daily dices, cosmetic and pets....). I know turbine needs the money, and thats fine by me, but at least add something that will improve the gameplay experience. Actually, there were only a few updates that really changed the game for the best: the guilds, the epic levels and the enhancement trees (beside new races/classes/quests). But in my opinion there is something missing, one more awesome big update (maybe the last one?), the PVP content, which is basically absent.

I know that DDO is not a PVP focus game, and im not asking for that. I just enjoy playing PVP sometimes with my friends and i wish turbine start giving a little more attention to it. A new update with more arenas and more pvp options would be a nice start, with some reward so it wouldnt be such waste of time; nothing fancy, just a some xp and a few chests with the usual trash. And how about a guild vs guild? Imagine an arena with the two guild airships flying paired and the players of one guild have to invade the other one, that would be awesome!! That is the kind of thing this game need, not new hairstyles.

DDO have a lot of problems, and some people say that it wont last long, but i dont believe, i still enjoy it, i still have fun with it, but i miss the PVP content that other MMORPGs have, and i guess you guys miss it too.

Not in PvP Forum, so fair Target.

    Hell No!!

Dev Time is already at a premium, there's no point in wasting it on something that is clearly an afterthought.
DDO was never meant to cater for PvP. PvP is good as it is right now.
The only exception to that is to make special chat channels in each brawling pits so that the general channels from the areas they are in won't be spammed by what happens in the pits.

No thanks there are limited dev resources and would hate to see any wasted on pvp. I have only enjoyed one game with pvp and that was SWG before they ruined it. The only thing I miss about pvp here is the time when we didn't have it.

the lack of PvP focus is the primary reason DDO has been able to hold my attention over the years.

At this point, I think PvP would just drive away all the old school players. the lack of pvp is rare in MMOs these days.

would it be worth the trade?

No, I don't. In my experience with the other pvp mentioned games, pvp mainly seems to be an excuse to treat others poorly, gain gear and money with very little effort in those that allow looting on top of the kill, and other unpleasant behavior that divides a community and reduces the pleasantness of being part of it.

Im very disappointed with what I saw here today.

This morning I created this post to share some thoughts about the PVP. But what i get was a pretty fast-agressive response. I really don't know why people in DDO hate PVP so much, especially when someone proposes such small changes (and i say "small" because, as i said before, the game is not pvp focus and should never be).

But what bugs me is that in this 5 years of DDO i made a lot of friends, and most of then really enjoy the idea, unfortunately for me they dont spend much time on the forum. Keeping this in mind i start to look the others PVP posts, and now i get it. Its not that people in DDO dont like the PVP, its just a few people on the forum that sniff around looking for any PVP post just to comment that they dont like it. I found the same people posting the same almost disrespectful comments over and over again. And since haters usually are pretty expressive, it give the wrong impression that the whole community thinks that way.

I can deal with some criticism, thats ok, but this? Shame on you guys...

(of course there are exceptions. If what i wrote dont apply to you, please ignore it)

I enjoyed pvp in a game designed for it but ddo and d&d aren't and now we have limited dev time so we would resent any spent on something only a limited few would enjoy. If you looked around enough you would see a majority of posters are against it. some even stronger than I am and would have them remove the limited pvp we have, I am not for that just not for any more time spent on it

i wouldn't bother if they were releasing or fixing stuff with some king of efficiency
that said, what we have been seeing is:
    - let's release something, test it in lammania, don't pay attention to players
    - release in live server, at 25% of what is supposed to be
    - patch 1, which breaks 3 things and fixes 1
    - patch 2, which breaks 2 things and fixes something that wasn't supposed to be fixed, cause it was stated and WAI (we could call it, lesser breaking)
    - instead of fixing all the mess, release new content again

with that fluid's dynamic, what we need is less releasing and more fixing

once we have something more or less stable, then they could advertise the game, so they get new players and charge less roughly the current players

sad thing, what i said won't happen

same reason cause "whatever pvp change" won't happen, not my fault, the $$ revenue is 0, unless you decide to sell it as an expansion for 30$, in which case they may think about it
psykopeta is finally baconpletionist because there isn't anything to delay it more - thelanis, where the gimps claim to be pros and noobs claim to be pros, no newbies allowed(unless they claim to be pros), we have enough drama w/o them. PS: I post only in the latest thread shown in main page, in the weird case u want something from me, feel free to send pm
