What a complete waste of time. DDOS from China? Whatever, the US apparently has "enemies", which is the dumbest thing in the entire world. Yeah, let's hate an entire country and ruin everyone's day. What a GREAT idea.

I think part of the problem here is that...

Facebook and Twitter saw about 20ish minutes notice but the in-game notice which use to be the norm for Turbine to Global announce every 5 minutes until the last 5 minutes, at which point we got the announcement every minute appears to have been abandoned.

I think someone made the assumption everyone was watching the social media and in this case did manage to miss the group of people that were logged in and playing.

If they return to using the global announcements system they can avoid the outrage as we players are mature enough to know there is an issue, you are working on it and it will disrupt the system but in return we ask for some consideration as people with even 15 minute warnings can make some better informed decisions on if they want to enter/continue or log out now. Please bring back the Global Announcements giving players the same time consideration as what is given on the other social media outlets.

so we were in ee red fens, near end fight, and got the "30 secs til server shutdown message" without any previous warning/message

awesome job, for real, wonder why they keep firing programmers when the issues come from the ******** who is leading them

guess will try playing ddo next year, good luck keeping players meanwhile with this method
