    Default Measurement Guild: Survivability

    Having trouble staying alive? Want to improve your streak of not dieing? This week I'm bringing a guide on surviving this harsh world of beholders, traps and brocolli!

    --Survivability--

    As always, tips are welcome, I only ask that additions are useful for melee/rangers or casters in general.

    Default The formula you gave for calculating miss chance is flawed but still good advice.

    Not to be a that guy but it seems the miss calculator is flawed. If you use it and say somehow you got 100% dodge and 0 in either of the two areas you would not have a 100% chance but a 0% chance also lets say you had 20% from all three and calculated it out. 20% dodge rate out of 100% should give 80% and then 20% incorporeal off of 80% would leave you with 64% chance of being hit and then add in 20% from blur off of the 64% and you get about 50-51% chance of being hit not to mention AC is not included in either that version or the version I threw out. I may have miscalculated but with 20% in all three areas I came up with about 99.2% not sure if that was hit or dodge rate but I can immediately tell that that can not be correct. (1-(20/100*20/100*20/100))*100=(1-(1/5*1/5*1/5)*100)=(1-(1/125)*100=(124/125)*100=0.992*100. So just had to point that out there and again that doesn't include ac so if you only had a 0.8% chance of being hit and had just a low ac which gave a 5% chance of becoming a miss that would mean that you would only get hit 0.4% of the time with the calculator you gave.

    Yes you are right, thanks for pointing that out. Made it a cheap fix by linking to the miss chance page of ddowiki, didn't want to spend too much space explaining something that is of secondary importance to the page.

    formula there is correct:
    D = (100-Dodge)/100
    C = (100-Concealment)/100
    I = (100-Incorporeal)/100
    ? Miss chance % = (1-(D*C*I))*100
