Default Error in the description or crafting fail?

So after my level 9 rogue got insta-deathed by a couple of beholders, I figured it was time to craft a deathblock item for her. So I switched over to my crafter and began.

I chose to put the shard on a cloak, since this provided the best equipment load out option. Hovering over the correct icon in the correct crafting stall, I see that a non-flexible bound deathblock shard can be put on clothing, which theoretically should include cloaks. I craft the shard, put the shard and the empty cloak into the machine, and get no recipe.

I check again. Yep, it clearly states that this shard CAN be put on clothing. I try again. No recipe.

So, is this a failure in crafting that is not WAI, or is it merely a typing error in the description?

clothing sometimes means robe or outfit.

unflexible deathblock goes on armor slot or shields
flexible goes on additionally on Necklace, Ring, Trinket

IIRC cloaks are listed under CLOTHING in the auction hall, so as far as I'm concerned cloaks are a viable item for deathblock shards. My point is that there is an error here somewhere.

Additionally, I agree that a workaround would have been to craft a flexible one, but I don't have the crafting levels for that.

In Cannith crafting, clothing has always referred to robes/outfits. Cloaks have their own listing just like there is no "jewelry" option rings, necklaces, etc. are all separate.

Since some effects can go on armor/docents but not robes/outfits they needed something to call it, maybe clothing wasn't the best choice though I don't think I've ever heard this complaint before.

I see. Then the problem comes from classifying a cloak two different ways; one way under CLOTHING in the AH, and another under CLOAKS in the crafting hall.

This is unfortunate for my rogue. Crafting deathblock on armor or a weapon is not a viable option, nor is buying one off the AH. It would ruin her load out, as most of those items are named or special.

I'll have to see what I can do to get a flexible shard. Thanks!

She could use an in-game deathblock item. Silver Flame necklace can have it at ml: 8 or 9. The helm from the Divine Blessing set has it and is ml: 7 (Red Fens pack). If the rogue is at least level 12, it can fit in a yellow or green augment slot. (You could get a cloak with a yellow augment slot). At around 14 or 15 there's that deathblock necklace from gianthold. These are not optimal solutions, but they'll keep your rogue from dying while you level your crafting.
