Default Need 3rd life Monk build

Hi all, So I recently returned (as did many) and found that the game had changed. At the time I was level 17 on my run 2 monk build, and decided I would just finish it out with my build. It was doing ok, but I'm thinking this time around I can do better. I had been using the Rockin Robin (?) build. (Wisdom, unarmed, light focus) and was quite happy with it. I was happy with the fighting style, however it didn't seem to have the survivability I would have liked. So now that I have made 20, I want to TR to my 3rd life, with the extra stat points. I have level 2 tomes (all stats) on this guy at the moment, and am considering putting 5's on before the TR. I've also thought about just waiting until I get to 23 on run 3 and putting 6's on.. So I'm hoping to find a build, with the following qualities. I want survivability to be number 1 and damage to be a close second. I'm hoping to stay pure monk, but am open to other unarmed builds. I have a habit of over estimating my abilities and taking on more than I can chew. I'm hoping to survive a little better when I get ahead of myself. I normally run in wind stance for the exceptional attack speed, but will change stances when the situation calls for it, should I know ahead of time Also, I have one off those Otto box's with the XP boost that should take me a good way to 20, so no need to worry much about early levels, as I don't plan to be there long Anyone have any build suggestions? Please help!

If have bladeforged, a 16 monk/3 fighter/1 wiz or 16/2/2 shintao in mountain stance should give you good defenses with stalwart stance, martial feats, haste boost, some sp for reconstruct sla, etc.

If dont have bladeforged, a Human 12monk/4 paladin/4 fighter shintao in mountain stance should give you good saves, sacred defender stance, some features, some str bonus with divine might, divine sacrifice, exalted cleave (that could be complemented with Whirlwind Attack for aoe dmg), heal amplification for fists of light and rejuvenation cocoon and heal scrolls/pots.

Monk feats: dodge, stunning fist, fists of light, deflect arrows
feats: (human) power attack (or precision), twf, mobility, toughness (or magical training), ic bludgeon, itwf, gtwf, grandmaster of forms, overwhelming critical, vorpal strikes, ptwf, empower heal
Fighter feats: spring attack, combat expertise, whirlwind attack,

stats: 16 str, 14 wis + lvl ups, 15 dex +2 tome for itwf, 14 con, 11 cha , 11 int+2 tome for combat expertise
Enhancements: mainly shintao with some kotc and sacred defender for stance, few kensai for haste, human for dmg boost and heal amp, etc.

lvl order: Monk x9, Fighter, Monk x3, fighterx3, paladin x4
skills: umd, jump, concentration, balance, heal

Try out sestras build, 15 monk 4 palie 1 fighter, it works nicely as halfling if you dont have iconics or as bf if you have.
Very sturdy and endgameish build, not a flavor of the months, but its best i can propose from top of my head if you want a unarmed build.
Has saves, stance, light damage tier1, dmight, haste boost, heals, good stunning dc and acess to qpalm which somewhat works once stacked

Thanks for the suggestions. I was looking at Sestras build (https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthrea...=1#post5428527) and noticed all the past lives. The build looks nice, but wanted to know if this would work for me, considering the number of past lives this guy has on this guy. Thoughts?

Sestras Build was for u22. With the u23 changes I would change some feats, like the cleaves that are not more required for overwhelming critical and you can get one free cleave from knight of the chalice tree now, also he doesn't take improved martial arts or vorpal strikes that adds dps to the build.
The build I suggested 12 Monk/4 paladin/4 fighter is more updated (only require +2 int and dex tome and +3 wis tome at level 24 if want vorpal strikes but otherwise can take improved martial arts that is good too) and adds whirlwind attack that is a cool aoe dmg ability, useful if playing with full stacks of master blitz or even with avatar of nature form when farming primal destiny.

The past lifes are not required (although help a bit), for example the fighter past lifes help a bit on your stunning fist dc, but the most important is the gear (+10-12 stunning item, +5-6 exceptional), twists (legendary tactics or gmof core abilities), and some help from a wis tome and +11 wis item, +3 insight wis item, etc).

This build also uses some charisma for dm and saves so a +10-11 item and +2 insight item help there, apart from str and con items, imp deception is nice too, heal amplification, Sheltering items help too, etc. The good thing is that you can find many items at high levels that give you many stats or abilities (for example epic necro gear), and thunderforged handwraps tier 2, not so hard to get, or a thunder and lightning wraps that can be bought in the ah.
