    I'm planning a Morninglord Wizard Rogue splash maxing Enchant DCs and Spell Penetration

    Do I need the spell penetration past lives with all of this spell penetration investment?

    The Palemaster is for the +2 enchantment DCs from Vampire form.

    Okay, here we go.
    You don't take 18 levels of wizard for litch form, that (w improved shroud) gives you +4 int, giving you +2 dc to all. Vampire makes you REALLY weak against light damage, and every divine caster shoots lazer beams, or the light nuke ting.
    17 levels of wizard means -3 spell pen, and with build this spell pen dependent, its kinda bad. Drow and demons will hurt.
    12 con means you probably gonna get wrecked hard, especially w/ vampire. Why the STR, and dex investment? Are you planing on going melee on 12 con character? In that case take some Harper enchantments. they give you Int to hit and damage.

    If you go less than 20 wizard, I would recommend getting past life for spell pen (and extra DC). Its not absolutely necessary, but its really nice to have against some stuff.
    Take rouge level earlier, so you get more umd. Dump listen instead. Get more heal from cleric too, as long as you are taking it. Its good for aura, and necrotic ray.Why you take rouge levels, and don't get any trapping skills? That's like +30% xp in most quests.

    Pro tips- failed instakills give negative levels. Circle of death is good for this. Also use the clouds and fogs, as long as you hold stuff.
    This is mostly party oriented build, as you wont have enough spell points to do damage for extended periods of time. Also its nearly useless in party, unless the party consists of melees, who focus on sneak attacking helpless enemies.
    I really hate enchantment speced wizard, as its really tedious and boring to play. Test it out, before TRing into one. I made similar character, and deleted it. So did other 2 guys I know.

    What are you doing for damage? What are you doing for immune/resistant enemies(undead, constructs, (some vermin, Demons and drow), red named)?
    Lets say for example you meet undead divine caster. You gotta Ether one shot them before the can cast 1 spell or...
    1) drop form (and probably get negative levels)
    2)Nuke down.
    3)reapply form(loose spell points, that you don't have that much off, unless you got uber gear), to be able to heal (or umd heal, w 12 con)
    Repeat at least 4 times per each quest that has them in.

    Also the enhants you take on PM are really bad. you are better off with neg energy crits, skeleton pet (lever pulls, and you can hide behind him from some spells), and extra Hp from Deathless Vigor.

    Also you were going non shrouded vampire? That's 3X incoming light damage, meaning you die each time you see divine caster, or anything with light spells really. You are better off just umd healing.

    Okay. I would switch maximize and necro focus around, as you get more use of maximize and necromancy is nearly useless before level 12 or so.
    Same with enchantment and heighten or empower, but that does not mater as much.
    You invest only first 2 point in skeleton. anything more is waste of points, as it gives no benefit (you heal skeleton with aura, and it does no real damage anyway).
    Take the discount to meta magics instead.
    Also take more archmage, and probably not necromancy archmage, as it doesn't give you anything good, unless you invest 30+ points.
    If you are not taking the +1 school DC's from archmage I recommend Ilusion (free blurr and displacement, invisibility, jump) or transmutation (free haste,jump, and knock). Conjuration gives web, and enchntment gives hypnosis.
    Also If taking free buff's from archmage, I recommend extend, as it's free double duration on the buffs (and not free on death aura), but that's optional.

    Only problem now is survival (14 con, no evasion), and still immune enemies (enemies that are immune tho death spells are immune to holds too), but it probably be okay, if you take disintegrate, firewall and stuff. Still cleric and pale master has ok synergy.

    Also you can possibly use harm/inflict Wounds scrolls/wands (you can buy inflict scrolls, and find wands and harm scrolls). If you take the 75% umd thing, you can get more burst healing, if needed (you probably wont need it, but its an option).
    Overall ok build, less skeleton, more archmage.
    Also the archmage capstone gives +2 int(you gotta log out and log back in, its buggy as hell, and not shown in description) , so you can take it instead of PM capstone, and still have same(or higher) DC.

    Very helpful, detailed advice, much appreciated Wh070aa.

    Here's my latest attempt. I'll probably start building this toon today. I tried to sequence out the 1-15 feats better for others that might use the ideas for a non-iconic, but I'm not sure it's optimized for lowbie content. It won't matter much to me what happens before level 14 (I start my iconics holding level 15). The name Abyssian is associated with maxing spell penetration, as in the depths of the abyss, and I want to hold to that concept for flavor. The name came to mind because of a classic reggae group The Abyssians, which is also a reference to African history. I list my past lives so I get my 36 ability points but my PL feats are not particularly relevant to this build.

    Forgot this was iconic. Feats sequence is fine then.
    I would replace arcane fluidity with

    Rejuvenation of Dawn (healing teammates/negative levels/stuns) and Blessing of Amaunator(temp hp, and spell resist), Feywild Tap is also worth considering (incorp + displacement is sweet, and extra spell points are good to have, if you don't have items, and Enchantment Lore (if taken fullly) is not complete waste of points), but is extra investment, and points are tight.

    Since I don't use light(?) armor, but if you use armor, its ok. I use Robe of Shadow, form marbar, as its really good for necromancer (its +necromancy DC,spell power, Critical, and chance to get healed when hit, and nigtshield clicky).

    But that's personal preference, and depends on gear you have.

    Have you taught about your spell layout/witch damage gear you gonna use/switch out? Also remember to check rare scroll list when taking levels and spells. Some really good spells are hard to come by, up to a point where some wizard players stack their banks with rare scrolls, even when not planing to use them anytime soon.

    Also Consider Divine Healing(with maxed heal skill, its really good regeneration effect, as it gives up to 4d4 hp per heal skill, every 2 seconds (duration = heal skill) Poor scaling tho, healing amp only), and Divine Vitality(infinite ally spell points), if playing with other people. (Endless Turning from Divine Crusader, tier 1 twist). While these are sub optimal, they are great if playing in static group, and people that have problems with hp or sp (and doesn't have other, competent clerics, or access to plat for potions). Not really worth taking in my opinion, but it's an option.

    You played sorcerer before, so you probably be ok, but the spell casting and cool downs on wizard are noticeably slower (seriously some cool downs are like 10 to 30 seconds longer) Cast times without quicken are kinda suck too.

    I'm finding DCs are failing more than spell pen so I'm trying to max my necro DC with PM investment and intelligence.
