    Default Shadowscale Outfit

    Hi Folks!

Please help me coz i don´t get it, but ... :

Finally got my thunderforged shadowscale Outfit for Monk. T2. What´s the Thing about it? In comparison to my flawless black or White Dragon, it´s totally unspecial to me. DC+1 on tactics doesn´t even boosts QP, it´s a total fail in my opinion.
    I mean, helloooooo, endgame gear?!

    What do i miss?

From a DPS perspective it does nothing for Monks.
I still use my black dragonscale.
NEgative energy spike with mob misses.. vs the overabundance of undead.. not very useful...

For robes/outfits I stick with black dragonscale as well.

I use the armor for the 130% fort, saves me a twist slot. It is a great clicky when you get stuck in between mobs too so I recommend that you at least make one. And if for some reason you do make a shadowscale don't get the outfit, get the robe. The outfit looks terrible.

The main reason to get it is for fortification and two augment slots. I believe that this is an item that a monk with decent end game gear and a few relative heroic and epic past lives gets, mainly because you aren't losing much by upgrading to it from Black Dragonscale Armor or a Spider-spun Caparison/Vestments of the Sun Soul. Ultimately, what you wear and equip is your choice, and if you find something not worthwhile, then I urge you to follow your instinct.

Its pretty much garbage for monks, wore it for a while on one etr, soon went back to spider spun + 3 wis robe, fort can be slotted or bettered by epic minos.
can still use the clicky in emergencies.
It does however, look great....so I mirrored it and my little monk wears it all the time as a cosmetic.

I like it because it consolidates a lot of weird-to-slot things like Deathblock, Fort and Ghostly, I run a Henshin in Crusader and so far Black scale offers mostly abilites that don't stack or that I can get better elsewhere. If there was a proper monk outfit at endgame that I could wear I'd probably go that direction.

if anything I'd be more interested in white scale for the HP and Shield AC.

White Dragonscale gets a bit more on the defensive side, but pretty hard to beat the Blackscale set combine with..
Necklace of Mystic Eidolons -Ghostly, Deathblock, Insightful Constitution +4, Insightful Dexterity +4, Green Augment Slot
Can slot fort, or find it on an abundance of other items.

The only useful thing I found for Shadowscale was the PRR 30/60 for the heavy version, the rest of them are mediocre and not worth the resources compared to other lower level items.

Sure, but to indicate that Mystic Eidolons is as easy to get as Tier 1 Shadowscale is dishonest. I am a massive proponent of moderately powerful, guaranteed drop/turn in based gear that gets newer toons started before they are ready to farm Haunted Halls. Shadowscale consolidates a lot of convenient items and allows me to get several important features on to my toon, freeing slots like cloak and necklace, so that i can get 70% of the effects that my final build will have and use them to farm the remainder.

Sure it's not the best, but given that a capped toon with a finished ED might still have less than perfect gearing, its a nice thing to just go pick up.

I don't find Blackscale that compelling, 5% damage that comes and goes as proc chances trigger(maybe its got 100% uptime but Im doubtful), hasteguard that Im going to run over with Blinding Speed and the 3% doublestrike at the cost of two gear slots? Pass.

OP was asking what the draw to Tier 2 shadowscale was for monks, you are attacking my alternative choice to equip Mystic Eidolons. for deathblock/ghostly .. then make accusations of dishonesty.

There is nothing dishonest about how easy it is to get the Mystic Eidolons. its just comes down to repetitive runs.
You do realize the Mystic Eidolons drops on all difficulties including epic casual, and its Bind on equip.. so you could even buy it off the AH if your farming luck is really bad.
Its the only item that has two insightful+4 stats, and is as far as I am concerned best item in game for that slot, as well as being easiest to get in the endgame worthy gear.
