Barbarian DPS

Did a run of Breaking the Ranks here:

The damage output is nice, but I still think it needs further boosts. My defenses in terms of PRR/MRR are great, but saves are **** and I have no way to self heal aside from relying on sovereign pots. I went with the heal over time tick from berserker, it's actually quite nice.

Saves are quite low too - I think barbs need one more SOLID DPS push - and they're good.

The AoE potential is very nice - I enjoy that part thoroughly.

So they have lower survivability than Paladins and no reliable self healing, unlike paladins. They would have to do at least double the DPS of paladins to make them viable. Are they close to that mark? Is their DPS even equal to paladins?

their dps is lower than barbs on a straight up dps scale, but people disagree with me preaching how much better DC and LD is over FOTW. my observations are proving that its the players how they build a barb, the destiny they use, how they play one much like a caster, not raging and the gear set up for why their dps is not as high as they would like. if you build a barb and not play a barb as a barb than don't expect to have similar dps numbers as a true barb. the difference will be the survivability, but that's a problem with fruit hanging too low and creeping power, not the class.

And how are you arriving at this conclusion?

I'm also not sure how to interpret your "caster barbarian" remark.

read the frickin post I made. I wasn't trying to show off with dps. I also wasn't trashing builds. it all started with me saying that my FB did more dps on Live than the video that Cetus used and it spiraled from there.

Which is entirely in any sense or way impossible.
Your claim that your berserker on live now does more "dps" is a utter product of you imagination.
Since it is impossible in any sense, way or any scenario you want to present.
Also, taking into account what you presented in that video it is even more impossible that your claim has any grain of truth in it.
