Claw of the Vulkoor bugged?

Anyone run this recently? I ERed recently and this quest is in my daily to-do. Tried EH and EN; both times, after sneaking and pacifying the second scorpion (I skipped the first), I picked up the staff with feedback text "(Standard): You obtain a Ionna's Ancestral Staff." Yet there is no staff in my bag and I can't pacify the scorpion after.

I see a couple of forum posts, as recently as last week, about this quest and no mention of issues.

Ran it maybe a week ago on EE probably, EH possibly.

Thanks for the response... started working later today for the same character, so just one of those things I guess.
