Does Warforge/Bladeforge "Great Weapon Aptitude" work with with a bastard sword (in the sense that Bastard swords work as THF when single wielded/wielded with a shield)?

One more thing I guess, does the THF line of feats work with a runearm in your offhand?

Yes, the "Great Weapon Aptitude" enhancement (in both Half-Orc/Forged varieties) works with Bastard Swords and Dwarven Axes. (However, Half-Orc's "Orcish Weapon Training" line does not).

And yes, the THF line works with a Rune Arm in your offhand.

Yes, the question is: what is the justification for the difference, given that otherwise the two abilities are I think more or less identical, and the only difference is which race is getting them. They're both paid for races, after all - so why the difference?

Uhhh, because they're different bonuses?

"Orcish Weapon Training: +1 to hit and +1/+2 damage when using two handed melee weapons." (dmg bonus alternates w/each tier)
"Great Weapon Aptitude: Glancing blows produced by your two-handed weapon attacks have a 2%/4%/6% increased chance of producing magical weapon effects such as flaming."

Note that HOs have access to both; WF/BF only get GWA. GWA's description should be modified so it doesn't specify "two-handed weapon attacks," though, since it applies to all glancing blows and not just those from 2H weapons.
