Panther Companion Pet -Limited Edition

I would really love to be able to buy the Panther Companion (the one that fights along with you) from the DDO store. I bought the pack just a little to late to be able to get the companion. Would like to know if anyone else feels the same

I think it would be a good seller for awhile. I have a Panther and two owl bears and they really can be useful.

It should never ever be available again no matter what it was suppose to be a pre-order bonus only and to sell it again would be a slap in the face of those that pre-ordered another pet would be fine but NOT that one

Um, sour grapes much? I have it and would have no problem if they put them out there again for sale with turbine points. Game is slowly dying and something like this to help the bottom line is not the worst thing out there, no?
*EDIT* Ah did miss the part about another pet, so to make everyone happy - a similar type summon pet but not EXACTLY the same (no panthers or owl bears please)

I definitely would like the opportunity to purchase these -- or the equivalent if there are protective feelings about the owlbear/panther. And while I would obviously like any purchased companions to be BTA (and show up automatically for each new character thereafter, as with the pre-order, although I imagine that would be exorbitantly priced), I would also seriously consider one that was BTC.

No,it's bait and switch they should either say pre-order only or state a period where it won't be available and no,I never use the stupid pet or any other hireling but it's the principle of the thing

Also I don't think you understand the term sour grapes it would correct if I didn't have the item and then said oh I don't want it anyways since it is probably horrible

Well maybe sacrifice a bit of ur "principle of the thing" lol and the lights might stay on longer in DDO land. I have them and use them (panthers/owlbears), but either way for the future and good of the game.... I'm willing to let it slide if it brings in some cash to keep things rolling/surviving longer.

Turbine made a promise that it would be exclusive. Thats exactly what it should be. Its called INTEGRITY.

If you want something as effective as the cat, then they can throw on a few wiskers on and call it a Wolly Mammoth, or they can make it bald and call it the Hair Club President... ANYTHING but that panther.

That's fine, but so far only a verbal confirmation that Turbine promised. Anyone have text or link that confirms this? I thought it was exclusive, but can't remember for sure - would be nice to see this in writing.

I didn't get to pre order the pack, i was over the road working ( was a driver at the time gone up to 2 months at a time ) and am sure there are many in the military who did not get a chance to as well...
Just saying not everyone gets the chance to pre order when special items are available.

I fall into the opinion that it was exclusive, it should not be given again. That sort of goes against the whole exclusive limited offer thing. So how about making something similar in power, non casting.

10-15 Mephits could offer various ones
15 to 20 Elementals again various ones
20 to 25 Dire bear
25 to 28 Griffon

Sorry charlie - that would degrade the value of everyone else's current possession - and devalue any further limited edition (buy now or never get again).

However - if they brought out say a leopard print version and sold for 50USD each - sure, just not the black panther.

So just to follow up on this: If Turbine decided to change a few pixels in the appearance of the pet -- but keeps all of the stats and abilities the same, so that underneath it is essentially the same thing -- this would be an acceptable compromise?? Is it the appearance of the companion that is really the dealbreaker?

I'm asking because -- while I genuinely do understand why purchasers of the pre-order are wary of having the panther available to all -- I suspect that it would probably not be realistic for Turbine at this point to code up an entirely new pet instead (i.e., no succubi -- too much work) and that a reskinning of an existing pet is probably the most likely thing that would happen. I personally would like one -- having missed out on the pre-orders -- and would be okay with a white or golden panther.

should be coded different so it is actually different so those who pre-ordered may want to get the new one as well
