Default L20 Pure Monk Build- what should my end stats be?

Human, pure Shintao build, unarmed. Starting stats:
    STR 15
    DEX 15
    CON 14
    INT 8
    WIS 16
    CHA 8

Where should I be at 20, without item boosts?

were you a 32 point build or a 28point build?
    do you have any tomes?

Also check out the monk guide in my signature, you could compare your stats to the builds in that.

Well, you need 17 base DEX for xTWF, and you want 23 base WIS for Vorpal Fists, but that comes much later. Assuming no tomes, I would put 2 points into DEX, the rest into WIS, and keep an eye out for a +2 WIS tome.

If you do have tomes, get to base 17 DEX, 23 WIS and everything else into STR.

Consider yourself lucky; you don't also need 23 STR for Overwhelming Critical, anymore. It took forever to get all 3.

That is one way to do it, but your stun is going to suck, and hitting stunned/helpless mobs with sense weakness etc is the fastest way to up your dps, ...the sweet spot for stun(epic) Ithink is still 70 plus, and to get that you need lvl ups in wisdom, and/or plus 5/6 tomes (unless you wish to run in ocean stance, which I wouldn't recommend).

Sarlona: Mercilless, Maliciouss, Relenttless. Plus others.....

He's not going to make 23 WIS without tomes even if he puts all available points in it (after getting xTWF).

Is the extra 1 DC from those 2 points he put into DEX going to make up for not having xTWF? I don't think so.

I am hitting a 64 DC stunning fist on my STR-based 12 monk/4 fighter/4 ranger; just going pure would get that over 70. I have eaten a +5 WIS tome to get to 23 base, though.

Also, and maybe it's just me, but I don't consider trash DPS a particularly worthy goal; yes, it helps while leveling to be able to solo, but in a group, usually the finger-wigglers are handling the trash and they want you there to deal with the boss, against whom stunning fist (and high WIS in general) doesn't do anything.

Frankly, I don't see this guy trying to solo EEs any time soon. No offense to the OP

For my Halfling monk I started with(36 point build)
    str:13 dx:16 Cn:15 in:12 Ws:16 Ch;8
    Str:26 dx:36 cn:42 in:15 ws:56 ch:12
I only have 1 +4 tome used and its str I could get 58 wis with a +5 tome(only have +3 atm) 60 with amrath pot and 62 with epic litany. these stats are of course
with ed maxed out in wis tier and geared out.
also hp is:901 but I also don't have any gear other than spidersilk outfit that gives +20 hp and a mineral II helmet with the hit point bonuses up to tier 3
also with saves in the 60-70 range your decent for epic elite as long as you twist in some healing cocoon.

Default lack of str does not a gimp monk make

Okay ya everyone says str str str. I went wisdom and I use earth stance exclusively I still crit for 1000 with my thundy wraps which are only tier 1 with 1st degree burns. I use the epic boots of the innocent and the epic ethereal bracers for stunning dc bonuses and dex/attack speed ( I was using blinding speed feat but I swiched it for bulwark stance for +4 ac and +2 saves). I don't see why peeps have to go str with monks for dps to do damage when all you need to do is take the right enhancements and joose up the die steps in damage. I never have a problem with epic elite unless there are 6+ mobs on me which there usually are once I whittle them down it pretty easy. So you don't have to go all str. Of course peeps will say your gimped but I usually enter the ee quest 5 min before everyone else
and get about 1/4 of the way thru the quest all with a str of 26.

STR vs WIS... so far I've been running with more WIS than STR, and have a hireling to help out, although she usually ends up killing me by doing something stupid. I'll be leveling to 6 today.

Now that Overwhelming Critical doesn't have a stat requirement, I'd recommend focusing on wisdom. as per my beginners guide

If you can reach 23 wisdom in your epic levels, you'll be able to pick up the feat Vorpal Fists, which is an average damage increase of +5 per swing, and it'll give you the ability to bypass slashing damage reduction. Strength will allow you to do more damage and increase your carrying capacity, but beyond the 13str required for power attack, there's no feat based pre-reqs that matter to you. Focus on gear and buffs for strength, whilst dedicating your level up points to wisdom.
