near the end of the year, so december probably. although there hasnt been mention of what it entails, since Anauroch Desert is to be in 2015 not u24. since it involves new festivault cookies and such I would hope it comes before that event, which is usually december 5th or 11th.

So, Is there even to be a patch to 23 instead? Or going straight to 24?

usually each update has 1-3 patches, a month or so apart from when its released. so, I'd say we'd probably get atleast 2 patches before 24.

It has been said that Lamannia might reopen for one or more of the patches (non-hotfix).

I'd expect mid to late November (about 6 weeks from now) for the first build of U24 to go onto Lamannia.

i am a lammania addict while i dont log there often, i like to read new release notes
is almost as fun as playing the game...

my dream would be new release notes every week... with something new added each week, like a new enhancement tree (druid, artificier are still missing one, while barbarian got all 3 crappy trees :P), or a couple new spells, or a new race and so on... (i know i know creating stuff takes much time :P)

It's usually about two months from when one update goes live and Lama opens for the first preview of the next update: e.g., U22 went live June 11th, U23 First Look went up Aug. 21st. So since U23 just went live last Monday, I would expect it will be late Nov. / early-to-mid Dec. before U24 Lama preview starts.

would agree, but u24... has no mention of a specific pack. the producers letter states

Update 24 will round out the year with new quests, new Festivult cookies, and a new event that centers on something we can all agree on: looting chests! We’ll be continuing our work on the Anauroch Desert (in the Forgotten Realms), planning for Sentient Weapons, and developing another Classic Dungeon like the Haunted Halls of Eveningstar. We expect these to be something you’ll see in the first half of 2015. We’re pushing out the level cap for now to make sure we have plenty of questing to support your journey through the highest levels of DDO. Hitting level 30 will be a big milestone for DDO, and we want to put it out when the timing is right, and make sure its design keeps up with the way you, the players want to play DDO.
so, it should hit live before the end of the year (which they've been saying they wanna hit it on lamma earlier then normal, so I'd say roughtly 3 weeks before it hits live. and since festivult usually starts either the 5th or 11th of decemeber and since the update effects that, I would say before then, which means it shoudl hit lamma ~3 weeks prior so early-mid novemeber at the latest. so while it does mention quests, It doesnt specify what they are, so atm there's no telling what exacty those will entail in terms of amount of content, u23 involved adding a good deal of loot from necro, updating the quests/explorer and doing a raid. Frankly since Anauroch is q1 of 2015, I'd say its most likely 2-3 quests that involve going there/preparing for the story, most likely the same length of the 3 f2p whelloon ones, so more then likely it wont require it to be on lamma for that long if thats all they got planned for u24.

granted, all speculation and hopeful wishing at this point, but they havent said that their schedule has been off or pushed back so they should still be on route to that.

I heard Cordovan previously in one of his livestreams said Update 24 was going to be hitting lammania late NEXT WEEK

We're working to get our first Update 24 preview on Lamannia. Could be as soon as late this week, but we'll let you know for sure once the work is done.

Rumor has it that the "Desert Area Thingy" (Anauroch) has been cancelled (or Postponed...so probably cancelled).

Update 24 includes barbarian enhancement tree updates along with four new quests, new Festivult cookies (changed some cookies as we do every year.) There's also a bunch of bug fixes and general improvements/fixes that will be in the Lamannia Release Notes when Lamannia opens to the public.

Cool beans, and thanks for the quick reply!

Are the 4 new quests related to the Abbott story line? or the whole Cult of the Dragon story line? or is it a secret?

Is the level of the new quests 28? or is that also a surprise?

    wild theory:

Like the chain before MotU, these quests will be free and act as a prologue for an upcoming expansion. In these quests, the cult of the dragon will totally decimate the netheril empire (much rejoicing will be had). Then, plans will be set in motion to awaken Tiamat!

    /wild theory

I sorta feel it's time for another expansion. I kinda want a good reason to give Turbine more money.
That's not lag, it's just DDO trying to become turn-based again.
Feature wishlist: colour-coded HP bars; red/blue teams in raids; rez-timer in party menu

No expansion is in the works, according to Cordovan.

Cordovan mentioned before that there are no planned expansions for 2015, but not that there will never be an expansion again. Do you have a source stating that no more expansions will ever be released?
