Epic Ring of Spell Storing

First of all, ross seals/shards mostly drop in ADQ on EE. People that ran ADQ EN and then the raid EE were killing their chances of getting ross. There was a nice 8 month window where drop rates were reasonable, but it's gone.

The drop rate of seals/shards was fine until U21 and now they are significantly decreased. I've seen the topic come up before but Turbine never addressed it. What I think happened is that Turbine inadvertently removed the seal/shard boost they previously gave. I ran ADQ EEx16 every week for 4 months and I can assure you the drop rate is about 1/5 of what is used to be prior to U21.

What is the consensus on how best to get the epic ring of spell storing (or indeed, any other epic Sands loot)? To abandon hope and look elsewhere?

I love the Demon Sands and I want a few of the epics there but it's looking like a ridiculous slog to get anything now.

I'd say just run them, especially EE ADQ1, if it's fun to you (I really like that quest), but don't hope for anything in particular. Eventually you will get what you look for, but more likely you won't.

Beside ERoSS there are other cool items like Epic Wolf Whistle or Epic Dusk Heart that are still worth it.

Hard-to-get does not mean impossible-to-get. It takes some time tho.











I used to run epic ADQ1 when it was easy to get all 3 chests without touching a single mob (this does not mean your toon was not touched, lol), but since I got all seals I wanted (at least 2 of each) I don't run it anymore. It was a great way to gather guild renown too.

Shard is from eN ADQ1 - best place to get shards from IMO.

The date on the shard is 9/11/2016, while the seal is less than one month later 10/8/2016, but I already had the seal when I pulled the shard, so the one depicted is currently in the possession of my friend and guildmate Kimbere.
