Have an old l2 paladin on a more populated server. THF or SWF?

So, I have a l2 Paladin from years ago, back when I made alts on each server to get TP. It has two raider boxes(I think, maybe just one.), the +0 LR and +20 LR hearts.
Not willing to level my 4th life dude on another server to level 28 due to iconic, and not willing to pay for transfer/hearts.
Unfortunately, I miss out on the +2/3 in every stat, +3->4 upgrade toms for two of them, and +5 for another stat, 1 Monk PL feat, and 2 Fighter PL feats. Oh well.
My plan is to do a TR or two on this character to unlock elite difficulty unlocks, more stat points, some Epic PLs, and gear/tomes, then settle on I guess either Swash(damage, freeze, instakills, SM + SWF) or Paladin(more... tanky, if that's the right word, and imo Paladin is cooler sounding :P).

Point is, I hear the best options for Pally damage is either twitch THF or SWF + Orb. I know that twitch refers to moving at the right times to get more hits or something, but how does regular THF compare? I'm guessing it's lesser damage, but I still want to hear.

Secondly, even if I go SWF, BF is still a good choice to TR into when I decide to, right?

Lastly, what wep should I take from the box(CitW weps) for SWF? Balizarde?

Gonna try to find a SWF Pally build, but if anyone has one to share, I'd be grateful.

Man, I never thought I'd go Paladin. Or return to this game, tbh. Then again, LotRO/RS do get tiring after a while... until the next big thing comes out, anyway.
Then again, I've had a softspot for this game.

Edit: Oh right, I have the cake that gives a +2 tome for any stat. Should I put it in STR for OC?

You should run S&B paladin. They are insane damage right now, and insane defenses. Can hang easily in EEs at level 20.

Shield bash crits are insane.

Bladeforged is always the correct race for paladin, and you should get Balizarde.

Feats (suggested):

shield mastery, improved shield mastery, improved shield bashing, IC: Slash, power attack, Adamantine Body, Stunning blow

overwhelming crit, tower shield proficiency (at 26 for purple dragon shield), Epic Damage Reduction or Khopesh

Doesn't matter for this build, but Overwhelming Crit no longer has a strength requirement.
IC slash is taken because slashing weapons are cooler and Balizarde has keen (can theoretically drop balizarde for slashing Thunder-forged)

Primary Enhancement Tree: Vanguard
Secondary Enhancement Tree: I run Sacred Defender, but KOTC if you want more offense and less defense.
Obviously get the Reconstruct SLA from bladeforged.

I'll give what you said a try.(That +2 to tactical DCs from Fighter PLs I had on my old dude would sure help, eh?)

..Hm, I could just make the Bladeforged and hope to get Balizarde/etc to drop... but, considering my luck with raid loot... and I have +20 heart in case I ever get bored... Then again, I was able to get regular SoS to drop for me on my old character... Eh, not like I need the best weapon to have fun. Then again, I'll probably TR for the skill points/etc... Shouldn't take long for the first two lives.
