LOGITECH G110 Keyboard - Unresponsive

A buddy has a Windows 7 64bit PC and reinstalled the game after many years away.

However his new G110 keyboard is either the victim of circumstance or party to a nasty driver conflict with something. Proper load files given permission in Norton 360. Same problem. Disabled Norton, still same problem.

If character was moving, keyboard "freezes" and character runs off. Mouse still works. No keys work on the keyboard. He plug in old usb keyboard and works like a charm.

Does anyone that has a G110 have any issues? Does anyone with a USB keyboard run into the same or a similar problem?

Hey Leslie,

This is a known issue with the G110 and a few other Logitech keyboards with backlighting. It's power requirements are just shy of what is supplied by most onboard USB ports. At times it will draw just a little too much current and disable the port, particularly when the machine is under heavy load. This behavior is seen most often on x58 and some 790i chipset motherboards.

I have one and was able to fix the problem by installing a driver from my motherboard OEM (Gigabyte) designed to boost USB power output for charging mobile devices (available here just in case). If such a driver is not available for your friend's computer, the best advice I can give would be to make sure it's not attached to a USB3 port and has no other peripherals plugged into the keyboard USB ports. Some people have reported that disabling Legacy USB support helps, but I have no direct knowledge of this.
