drow staff pally - go 15 3 monk 2 rogue or 15 4 rogue 1 monk?

Im already lvl 5 so I have to decide soon if I want evasion... kotc/acrobat, Im wondering if no mercy+sweeping strikes are worth losing 2nd and 3rd monk level (fists of light, 1 feat, extra shuriken from NS). I already took one monk level (3/1/1 atm) which is fine for stances and dance of flowers. Did I miss anything important id lose from not taking 2nd and 3rd monk level?

If STR based i'd take only max 2 rogue (for quickstrike and haste boost), 15pal/2rog/3monk

If DEX based, i'd go 15pal/4rog/1monk (shadow dodge gives you +6DEX, which is nice and uncanny dodge...mmm i like it ).
Then again, uncanny dodge is so nice that even STR based its worth considering :P

Imo if you miss monk 3, it doest matter much to miss monk 2 aswell (if you dont need the feat).
Monk 3 gives you also faster movement and Lighting the Candle (if you dont mind the lost Ki generation).

Also, you could go 14/5/1 too (holy sword doesnt stack with staff specialization iirc).
5 rogue gives more sneak attack and better skills, 5 monk basically gives purity of body and some more ac (duh).

I think all of those combinations will work pretty well and its just a matter of flavor and what you want for your char.
I have been pondering with this same issue lately but also could not yet decide which route would be best for me...

Lighting the candle is nice but i think in endgame no mercy will scale better... i guess ill just try the rogue way. Staff specialisation doesnt stack, plus I want to try kotc tier 5 (especially level drain immunity). Str based, though, would be a waste to make a dex-based pally. I might try a dex based acrobat for my rogue or arti past lives.

If you plan to invest in shuriken DPS, you definitely want monk 3 for Ninja core, which stacks with Shuriken Expertise. Otherwise, it comes down to light buffs & FoL from monk 3 vs Shadow Dodge from Acro T3, IMHO. Rog 4 would get you No Mercy.

Ive been playing shuriken in my last heroic life and for several epic past lives, so I got kind of addicted to it... but it was planned mainly as a ranged option, not as main dps. Right now im pretty satisfied with the performance of staff+kotc, and up to two shuriken are probably better than nothing. I should get used to having a totally different build and not try to incorporate too much shuriken into the build. Shadow dodge is not too interesting, the fort penalty is a bit tough on a non-warforged. Ill definitely try a bladeforged staffie for my rogue past life, then I can go full acrobat and full shuriken. In a fleshy pally build, tier 5 KotC is just too attractive.
