Default Scorpions - Time to Redesign

    Howdy,
The way you have designed scorpions for this game is, frankly, stupid. They're giant arachnids, not super burrowing mole people. So it's time to rebuild them as per the game origin.

You can find their actual stats at http://www.d20srd.org/srd/monsters/m...usScorpion.htm

    More grabbing, less burrowing!

So... Your suggestion is to eliminate burrowing, and program grappling into the game? If so, /not signed.

They do not borrow new holes--they use the ones made by the moles that they kille off

You are the one choosing not to play alts.

Casual player now investing way less than I used to into the game, playing 1-3 months at a time and still want nothing to do with Reaper. #improvepuggrouping#alldifficultiesmatter

I too found it annoying they burrow, since that has nothing to do with scorpions. And I dislike any mob that burrows/phases/disappears/otherwise becomes unattackable in the middle of combat, just wastes time.

I dont see where it'd be too hard to give them a grapple effect instead - a root effect + a small damage debuff that had a recurring STR save. Basically a Bear Trap, but with a damage debuff to represent your more helpless condition. Scorps would still be a challenging enemy, especially in swarms, just for a different reason than waiting for them to pop up....

I have been stunned by scorpions before--I think that is supposed to mimic the grapple effect. I suppose it was coded as a stun--I guess as a web-like effect would make more sense in terms of the animation

The only part about burrowing that I'm not a fan of is when it is though stuff like solid stone.

I agree it seems odd they programmed in burrow on these creatures who might start out burrowed for sneak attack purposes but not really their style of attack.

I like the idea of giving them their grapple but I think it should go one step further and include the "Tail Sting" special attack when they are grappling.
