Crafting with Master's Gift

What do I need to craft a ML1 ring BtA feather fall ring with a colorless slot for Master's gift? Is there something better than feather fall for a ML1 ring.

I have almost all the adventure packs.

I'm preparing for my TR.

Any advice is welcomed.

BtA blanks, as far as I can tell, have been completely removed from the loot tables. I have some BtA armours/shields with colourless slots from chain rewards such as STK/Waterworks/Threnal, but in many recent lives (I run almost all content over a TR), I have not seen them. I have never seen a nonarmour, nonshield BtA item with slots, though I hear rumours someone had a ring like that.

You can easily craft a BtC FF colourless-slotted ring. The enchantment is +1 and the slot is +2 for a total enchantment of +2, which, with Masterful Crafting, should be ML 1. However, I would not slot my Master's Gift on a FF item, as these are always swap items for me, so I could end up missing boosts to optional XPs. I use Axeblock/Invulnerability armours with the Gift starting at level 2 (I tend to use Daily Dice XP to skip level 1), and later on, put it on an always-equipped item like an energy resistance cloak or a CON item.

How would I be able to craft gear for my other toons if the gear are BtC? I only have one toon with good crafting skills?

Does that mean I have to craft unbound gear and have my alt toons make their own master gift?

All bound Cannith-crafting shards are BtA: you can pass them through the shared bank. In addition, unbound shards can be traded, auctioned, or mailed.

For completely customised gear, each character will generally have to farm its own Voice/Mantle (Tokens are BtA). However, you can slot the Gift on BtA named gear and pass it through the shared bank. Many adventure chains give BtA named gear with slots as an end reward (e.g., see the wiki article for Tunnelworm Champion's Belt). If the named BtA item isn't terrible, you can freely share it between characters. I can't advise you on a selection there, as I typically use crafted gear for low levels and crafted/raid loot for upper ones.

You can also use a Jeweler's Toolkit from the DDO Store to remove an augment from your item, and in that way, pass the Gift between characters, but this gets expensive really quickly.

Not for your purposes: they don't come with slots, and they're BtC.

Also, these trinkets are fairly common in chain reward lists and sometimes drop as random loot in chests (and are a random reward for the ice skating festival when it's up), so if you end up wanting to craft a custom trinket, you might want to save your TP. If you get a Shard of Power from the Vale raid (or Devil Assault, etc), you can also disjunct that and use it as a trinket.

Funny you should mention it. I got a Shard of Power on my 3rd run of Devils Assault EN. Is there a better use for the Shard rather than disjunction? I read it was a rare drop and don't want to waste it.

Well, there's the green steel items that need them. But other than that, no, there is not. So if you have all the GS you need, disjunct away.

Only problem with disjuncting the Shard, unless they changed it, is that it only has 1 durability, and will thus break quite quickly/often. So you'll probably also have to invest in an addy ritual or three to make it useful.

Rather than farm for a BtA blank with a colorless augment, I ran Catacombs for Marguerite's Necklace and slotted it with Master's Gift. The downside is it's ML:3 so you can't use it for the first couple of levels; but it's way less of a PITA to acquire than the right BtA blank.

Looking at wiki, there are a few items with ML: none. They are BtCoE in Kobold New Ringleader and Walk the Butcher's Path.

Maybe I'll do that instead of crafting.

Master's Gift is BtCoA, which means you can't pass it via your shared bank directly; instead, you have to slot it into a BtA item which remains BtA, then you can pass that item thru your bank. Hence why I went with Marguerite's.

Also, you all are on to something, but haven't quite pinned it down, yet. It has to do with slotting augments into items and BtC, BtA, BtCoE...

I like to slot my gifts into the Ring of the Bucaneeer and/or Spyglass from Crystal Cove.

Oh I intend to make lots of Masters gift to slot into items of varying levels. I was hoping to limit the number by sharing generic useful BtA gear with my alt toons.

The master's gift augment PERMANENTLY binds any item TO CHARACTER. So there's really no point trying to finagle BTA items for it.
