    Default Crafting with Master's Gift

What do I need to craft a ML1 ring BtA feather fall ring with a colorless slot for Master's gift? Is there something better than feather fall for a ML1 ring.

I have almost all the adventure packs.

    I'm preparing for my TR.

    Any advice is welcomed.

    Thanks,
    V.

BtA blanks, as far as I can tell, have been completely removed from the loot tables. I have some BtA armours/shields with colourless slots from chain rewards such as STK/Waterworks/Threnal, but in many recent lives (I run almost all content over a TR), I have not seen them. I have never seen a nonarmour, nonshield BtA item with slots, though I hear rumours someone had a ring like that.

You can easily craft a BtC FF colourless-slotted ring. The enchantment is +1 and the slot is +2 for a total enchantment of +2, which, with Masterful Crafting, should be ML 1. However, I would not slot my Master's Gift on a FF item, as these are always swap items for me, so I could end up missing boosts to optional XPs. I use Axeblock/Invulnerability armours with the Gift starting at level 2 (I tend to use Daily Dice XP to skip level 1), and later on, put it on an always-equipped item like an energy resistance cloak or a CON item.
I Cannith-craft (150 levels in all schools) for free on Thelanis if you provide all needed materials.

Thanks for responding and the advice.

How would I be able to craft gear for my other toons if the gear are BtC? I only have one toon with good crafting skills?

Does that mean I have to craft unbound gear and have my alt toons make their own master gift?

    Sorry for the noob-ish questions.

    Thanks,

All bound Cannith-crafting shards are BtA: you can pass them through the shared bank. In addition, unbound shards can be traded, auctioned, or mailed.

For completely customised gear, each character will generally have to farm its own Voice/Mantle (Tokens are BtA). However, you can slot the Gift on BtA named gear and pass it through the shared bank. Many adventure chains give BtA named gear with slots as an end reward (e.g., see the wiki article for Tunnelworm Champion's Belt). If the named BtA item isn't terrible, you can freely share it between characters. I can't advise you on a selection there, as I typically use crafted gear for low levels and crafted/raid loot for upper ones.

You can also use a Jeweler's Toolkit from the DDO Store to remove an augment from your item, and in that way, pass the Gift between characters, but this gets expensive really quickly.

    Bound shards are BtA...not unbound.

Looking things over a little on the wiki…you could always use the following no ML items:

    1) Bronkarz's Cloak (and this is easy to get),

    2) Shaagh's Helm, and this is good for a Fighter / Barb / Pally due to the Intimidate +7 (and is EASY to get on the AH / ASAH),

    3) Bloodknuckle's Loincloth Waistband,

    4) Gerard's Mail from the Catacombs and re-slot the blue augment.

I’m not sure these have no ML, as I seem to recall that the loincloth is a ML 2 (but I’m going from memory here), but I’m pretty sure their requirements are low.

Since level 1 goes REALLY fast, you might consider using ML 2 armor instead?
    1) Armor of the Unknown Hero

    2) Calamity's Carapace

    3) Gnashtooth Piecemail Chain

    4) Necromantic Robe

    5) Robe of Duality – one of my favorites,

…or just about any named armor out of the Smuggler’s Warehouse, Seal of Shan-To Kor, or Catacombs quests (chains). I think colorless will go into any slot, so you could easily slot these items and move on.

Outside of that, your best bet is a blank ring with a colorless augment, and maybe feather fall., mainly because rings at lvl 1 – 3 as loot are a little on the rare side.

Edit: Honestly, crafting items with augment slots is only really viable on toons at around lvl 16, where the augment ML requirement becomes less of a problem, especially with Masterful Craftsmanship shards. But al low levels, it's sorta pointless to make anything useful. So stick with named items for augments, and use non-slotted blanks for Cannith Crafted items.

I slot it in a crafted gloves or a crafted cloak w/slot easy enough.

As far as featherfall... For me I would not combine masters gift with featherfall since I do not like having perm inset featherfall and I never remove my masters gift.

For levels 1-(?) I have masters gift slotted in a cloak with no enhancements on it at all ( not really losing out on much there)

Some few levels later (not sure of the ML off the top of my head) I use the gloves w/ Ranged Alacrity crafted on. For an INT specced repeater build not many amazing glove in the mid levels or sources of alacrity.

I would suggest finding the gear slot for your build that is the least painful to give up at LVL 1 and slap on Masters give in a blank then go crazy.

*In Epics I have Ring of Shadows w/ Masters Gift slotted.

**Tip run Delera's & Threnal every TR until you have a few masters gift to slot for different levels of game play without using jeweler a kits.

You're not going to find a BTA accessory with a colorless slot. I find rings are the easiest to use, although if you could find a very low-level named trinket with a slot that would (obviously) work as well.

If you don't like featherfall, melee (or ranged) alacrity 10% is another good choice.

If you can't be bothered to craft something, a Jade Ring is ml 1 and has a colorless slot and +1 resistance. It's unbound until you slot the augment.

I'm going to the effort of farming two augments per toon. One for heroic gear, and one for epic gear. Ring of the Stalker (ML: 20) fits in a lot of builds.
